A Grixis control deck looking to win with Ral, Bolas or Thief of Sanity. Made on area and wildcards are limited, want to use it in competitive constructed. All criticism welcome!
Some explanations here.
Running a lot of 2 ofs for flexibility, and because the deck is in early stages. Will definitely see where it goes from here.
As for the land base, definitely will work on it when I get the wildcards. If you feel that there's nothing I should prioritize over that, I'd like to know. Not sure what I should be spending my next few wilds on.
4x sabotage and 2x ionize in main feels good. Maybe go up to 3 ionize. The burn is irrelevant but it's easy to cast and i'm a bit low on counters I feel. Maybe not though. Also essence scatter because it's always good to have some.
As for card advantage, Chemister's insight has never let me down. Adore the card. Notion rain seems really strong but I feel that in aggro matchups I only cast the card if I NEED an answer or i'm dead, as schocking myself can suck. Maybe move to sideboard for control? Azcanta is obviously in there, don't think I need to change that.
Sivan fire feels nice, but might be replaced. Cast down honestly has been under performing. Might look for a replacement but I don't feel I can go much lower on removal. Vraskas is super nice, will be even better when I get my mana base better. Likely going to go up to 3. Ritual of soot is a card I will almost certainly get at least one more of. Hoses so many strategies.
Nicol bolas is strong, and i'm not too worried about nullhide. Just don't drop him turn 4 against green. Thief of sanity feels nuts when it doesn't get shocked. Might get more. Solo wins games a lot. I also underestimated Ral, he is really strong. Card selection, removal and a game winning ulti. Never have regretted casting him. Nexus is a great card, haven't really got to use it much yet. Im sure it's still worth a one-of. Niv-Mizzet is great a against control and honestly strong against most decks anyways. Might move one to main when I get the mana.
For reference, I currently have 2 mythic wildcards, plenty of uncommons and commons but no rares. What would you prioritize getting for a deck like this? Any criticism is welcome!
