This deck is made to work around the card Paradox Engine. Though it can function without it, the deck is at it's best with Paradox Engine on the field. The deck is meant to take advantage of the tap/untap mechanics as far as possible.

Current Problems with the Deck:

Lack of Aggro or protection

Weak Early game.

Will almost definitely draw hate like moths to a flame.

What to replace (or if I should replace) Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, Trophy Mage, Temporal Adept and Tidespout Tyrant?

Synergies and Combos

Mind Over Matter + Azami, Lady of Scrolls + (Aetherworks Marvel + Cranial Archive)/Laboratory Maniac = Play a lot of cards/Win

Basalt Monolith + Power Artifact/Rings of Brighthearth/Paradox Engine = Infinite/A lot of Mana

Darksteel Forge + Mycosynth Lattice + Nevinyrral's Disk = Selective Boardwipe

Cards and what they do:

Arcum Dagsson - A surprisingly small part of the deck. Tutors for useful artifacts that you're going to need to make this work.

Aetherflux Reservoir = When you have Paradox Engine and a few good ramp rocks and card draw this should be easy to activate. Otherwise at the very least it'll give you a lifeline during the admittedly weak early game of this deck.

Aetherworks Marvel = Incredibly useful with this deck, if you can get the energy counters (Either from consulate turret or from discarding or sacking cards) this could potentially go off more than once per turn, especially once you get the Paradox Engine running. (Combos with the Mind over Matter Asami Combo, simply discard your entire library apart from Cranial Archive, getting you at least 94 energy counters, play and use cranial archive and then proceed to play 18 cards in one turn. (This will trigger Paradox engine multiple times too since Aetherworks marvel casts cards))

Basalt Monolith = Besides providing you with the mana you need for your paradox engine shenanigans (Paradox doesn't untap lands, so you're going to need a lot of these), Basalt Monolith can have Mechanized Production slapped onto it for massive Mana ramp.

Commander Sphere - Not very efficient (3 mana for 1 blue?), but provides colored mana for your Paradox Shenanigans, feel free to sac if you really need an answer.

Consecrated Sphinx - Card Draw. You're going to need a lot of this if you want to sustain a turn. This combos decent with Vedalken Orrey and Unwinding Clock to let you take turns during your opponents turns.

Copy Artifact - Obvious. Copy Paradox Engine, Aetherwords Marvel or some other powerful artifact. The more the merrier.

Cranial Archive - Enables the Aetherworks marvel combo, but also acts as an extra saftey against graveyard hate.

Arcane Denial - Save for big things or boardwipes. This deck does not like boardwipes.

Arcanis the Omnipotent - Enables big turns with Paradox Engine. Be careful not do draw your entire library. Can combo in much the same way Azami does.

Arcbound Reclaimer - Artifact Recursion. You're going to need this for when they break your Paradox engine or one of your combo pieces.

Azami, Lady of Scrolls - Same with Arcanis, but with the added caveat that she can make other wizards in your deck draw cards.

Strionic Resonator - Copies things that Rings of Brighthearth cant. (Namely, Paradox Engine)

Crawlspace - I'm going to be honest, playng this is going to earn your deck some serious hate, and it's not particullary good at aggro. This will at least make it easier to chumpblock.

Darksteel Forge - Again, you're going to need protection, especially from boardwipes which are the kryptonite of this deck (as it requires a lot of things on the board at once)

Efficient Construction- Sac fodder! Sac this with Arcum, or use them to Chumpblock.

Equilibrium- Bounce things to keep playing them to keep activating paradox engine. Also doubles as a delaying tactic against your opponents things.

Expedition Map- Search for some decent lands.

Fellwar Stone- Mostly useful when your opponet plays some blue. If they don't, then at least you get some mana.

Force of Will- See Arcane Denial

Glen Elendra Pranksters- See Equilibrium (Though this wont remove your opponents things)

Grand Architect- Tap blue creatures to play your artifacts.

Laboratory Maniac- Use the Mind over Matter and Azami Combo, put this out and win. (Do this over the Aetherworks Marvel combo only if you want your friends to lynch you as opposed to merely hating you.)

Lux Cannon- Some much needed removal. Even if you don't use Paradox engine to pump it up really fast, it can serve as a decent control element.

Merchant's Dockhand- Helps you find things like enchantments, creatures and instants, which this deck has trouble tutoring.

Consulate turret- Helps Aetherworks Marvel, but otherwise okay for pinging opponents (pump fast with Paradox Engine and Unwinding Clock)

Metalworker- This guy will get you A LOT of mana, even without Paradox Engine he is a beast. Expect to play entire hands with him and Paradox engine alone.

Mimic Vat- Use this to recur things repeatedly for their tap abilities or for ETB effects. Potential to make a lot of tokens with Paradox engine.

Mind Over Matter- Combos with certain cards in this deck very well, and though it's no paradox engine it's pretty sweet. Use it as a glorified tutor with Asami or Arcanis.

Mirran Spy- This should let you get an extra tap off an artifact before Paradox untaps them all. Very good if you want 9 mana from Monolith.

Mycosynth Lattice- Sac more things with Arcum (if you know your opponent has no artifacts in their library, Arcum can be used as amusing removal), Untap everything with Unwinding Clock, Copy Artifact now works on ANYTHING.

Myr Retriever- Some decent recursion which could help activate Paradox Engine.

Nevinyrral's Disk- Boardwipe. Only use in times of emergency... or if you have Darksteel Forge (Searchable by Arcum)

Omniscience- You're probably not going to be able to play this very often, but when you do it becomes that much easier to keep your Paradox Engine Engine running.

Paradox Engine- The crux of this deck. This Engine needs several things to run your deck: 1. Cards to cast2. Mana artifacts with which to cast the above cards. 3. Card-draw to make sure you have 1 and 2

Planar Portal- Expensive, yet will help tutor the things you need to protect this deck and keep the engine running.

Power Artifact- Combo with Monolith.

Prototype Portal- Potentially combo with a lot of cards, but Monolith would be one of the strongest, especially if you have your paradox engine.

Rings of Brighthearth- Another enabler for combos and synergy stuff.

Sapphire Medallion- Gets some blue mana that can be untapped by Paradox Engine.

Scarecrone- Recursion and Card Draw.

Scrap Trawler- Recursion and potential sac abuse.

Sculpting Steel- See Copy Artifact.

Skullclamp- Card Draw

Sol Ring- Needed to sustain Paradox Enginee shenanigans.

Swiftfoot Boots- Make certain key creatures hexproof, especially Arcum or Azami.

Tamiyo, the Moon Sage- Useful, but doesn't fit with the deck enough. Honestly she may be heading for the cut, though I'm not sure what to replace her with yet,.

Temporal Adept- Bounce Enemy creatures, or your own. This also may get cut for something better, since bouncing is pretty weak and you need to pay a lot of coloured mana for this guys ability.

Tidespout Tyrant- Does what Temporal Adept does but more efficent. Still may get cut as he's way to expensive.

Trading Post- Recur, card draw, life gain, chump blockers and sac fodder... what's not to love?!

Trophy Mage- Artifact tutor. May also get the cut as I feel Arcum can do her job better. I can't think of a situation where I'd play her instead of arcum.

Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger- This is a big nasty creature on a stick in case you need that. Doubles as removal, but he's mostly there so you have something to swing with (Or potentially copy with Mimic Vat?)

Unwinding Clock + Vedalken Orrery = Take your turn during other peoples turns.

Vedalken Archmage= Card Draw. May also get cut as he's pretty darn slow for a meh benefit. Azami and Arcanis can do his job much better, but still he might be useful.

Veilstone Amulet= Every wanted everything to have hexproof for a turn? Now you can!

Voidmage Husher- Anti commander.

Workshop Assistant- See Myr Retriever.
