Duh, friends found the errata on the key card within seconds: "any copy" in Mask of the Mimic is meant as "any ONE copy". So I guess it's only useful in merfolk decks a la Master of the Pearl Trident + Mask of the Mimic

Taking the errata into account it took 8 turns to get a meager 10 apostles... I guess you can play this only "unhinged" with R&D's Secret Lair.
