Here's my baby. I've been playing Animar for about 7 years now and he (it?) is my favorite commander. Every card in this deck moves you towards a win... no messing around here. 3.33 Creature (1.08 colored mana avg. with Animar discounts - Counting morph as 0) and 2.17 Non-Creature CMC (1.78 counting The Great Henge as a 2 drop). - 3.03 Overall (2.93 w/ Great Henge as a 2 drop) (Updated 1/29/22)

The deck is mainly set up as a combo deck but can win via aggro when the combos don't pan out. Combos revolve around infinite bounce, direct damage, mana, and/or card draw.

Neoform Combo

Requires only 2 counters on Animar, 4 life, Imperial Recruiter, and only {R}{U}{U}{G}.

1. Imperial Recruiter looking up Phyrexian Metamorph.

2. Play Metamorph for 2 life and copy Imperial Recruiter to look up Spellseeker .

3. Play Spellseeker to look up Neoform.

4. Play Neoform and sac Spellseeker to look up Ancestral Statue.

5. Play and bounce Ancestral Statue over and over until Animar is big enough to play a lethal Walking Ballista. You then use Ancestral Statue's final trigger to bounce Phyrexian Metamorph to your hand.

6. Play Metamorph for 2 life and copy Imperial Recruiter to look up/play Walking Ballista for the win.

Weird Harvest Combo

Requires only 2 starting counters on Animar and {2}{G}{G} (no recruiter or spellseeker), {2}{G}{G}{U} (no recruiter), {2}{G}{G}{R}{U} (needs both recruiter and spellseeker)

1. Play Imperial Recruiter to look up Spellseeker.

2. Play Spellseeker to look up Weird Harvest.

3. Play Weird Harvest (X = 2) to look up Walking Ballista and Ancestral Statue.

4. Play Ancestral Statue over and over until Animar is big enough to play a lethal Walking Ballista.

The rest of the possible combos are too numerous to list but the following are your key pieces. Cloudstone Curio, Equilibrium, and Temur Sabertooth are the main sources of bounce. Glimpse of Nature, Beast Whisperer, Primordial Sage, and Soul of the Harvest are your main draw engines. Peregrine Drake, Great Whale, Palinchron, Earthcraft, and Food Chain are your sources of crazy amounts of mana.
