I have previously built a 5-color mutate deck with Surgeon General Commander, but in retrospect I feel Animar will be more competitive. The trade offs being that you don't have access to some of the more utility-orientated mutations, but you get a commander that has protection from 2 colors AND makes storming with mutate fairly easy (I hope).
