About a year ago, I decided it was time to purchase the fabled Angus Mackenzie card and add it to the ever-growing list of my commanders. The color combination of bant was very appealing to me due to the interaction of blue paired with the ramp of green and the um... yeah... and there's white. From this point it was finding the best way to utilize this "fog on a stick" creature. I tried several different options like stax, land destruction, and mill. Over time, these all began to fail and i thought of pawning off the commander onto anyone willing to give it a shot but for Christmas this past year, my dad bought me a stained glass Angus playmat. I knew from there I had to give him a chance once more. I decided to not go against my calling which is combo for those who didn't read my username. This is the pile I came up with.

Combo Show

This deck utilizes the common simic "combo" known as "flash hulk" to gather it's infinite combo and win the game. Since we're in bant, I've decided to use the Dreadnought pile as the main way to secure victory. For those who do not know of this semi-obscure combo it goes like this...

1) Flash + Protean Hulk

2) Karmic Guide + Sidisi's Faithful - return Hulk with the Guide ETB trigger and exploit it with the Faithful to get another death trigger

3) Phantasmal Image + Phyrexian Dreadnought + Hapless Researcher - Image copies the Guide returning Hulk and then uses Dreadnought to sacrifice the Hulk getting yet another trigger

4) Cephalid Illusionist + Laboratory Maniac + Nomads en-Kor - This uses the Breakfast Combo (Nomads En-Kor and Cephalid Illusionist) to mill your library until there is no cards left in it then loot with the Researcher's Ability along with Lab Man's replacement effect to win the game

Filler Show

Since the actual combo to this deck only uses 10 cards, there is a lot of room for side themes. In this deck, I chose a planeswalker-stax package to fill the empty space. Angus (as long as it stays on the feild) is an amazing way to stop midrange or combat based strategies by fogging combats. This can also be used to protect planeswalkers to ensure static effects remain active. Walkers like Narset, Parter of Veils or Teferi, Time Raveler drastically hinder your opponent's ability to interact with your board or use wheels and cantrips to generate advantage over you while Lavinia, Azorius Renegade and Dovin, Hand of Control ensure that they are stuck playing "fair" magic and possibly slowing down fast, storm strategies.
