General Gameplan

Finally, after almost a year, this deck is completed for the time being. I have been wanting to make a red-white angel deck for so long, but it never really worked out. If you really want to focus on the angels that red-white multicolour gives you, then I think that there are 2 options for a red-white angel deck. The first one is a lifegain deck, I have made one of those as well, go check it out! The other one is this. An aggro deck. And when looking at some red-white aggro, something you will notice is the fair amount of red-white creatures with a "battalion" or battalion-like ability. This makes perfect sence in an aggro deck, and thats why this deck is also sub-focussed on that. This deck uses small creatures that can be pumped up with the ability, making them both relevant in the early to mid game, and sometimes with the right effects late game. This deck also has some supporting spells to make sure you can hit your opponent hard. This deck also has some late game potential with powerful creatures and lands that can buff creatures.

Legion Loyalist

(Mana Cost) 1(Power) / 1(Toughness) +4 (how many copies there are in this deck)
This is an early game creature which scales very well into the late game. His abilities allow him to do some early damage (with his haste) make other early game creatures better ( Boros Elite if attacking with a battalion gets +2/+2, having that with first strike and trample in turn 3 is no joke) and can be held in your hand as a late game finisher. Imagine a late game scenario where you have a lot of creatures but can't break the opponents defence just yet without taking too much damage yourself. This is where you want to hold a Legion Loyalist in your hand. When the time is right you play hit and immedeatly use its battalion ability because of his haste. First strike and trample for one turn in an all out attack with other buffs like Boros Charms indestructability or Aurelia, the Warleaders double combat phase (where the creatures keep the first strike and trample since it's till the end of turn) or other cards, it can win you the game. So just to summarise, a turn 1 Raging Goblin who gives relevant buffs for both early and late game creatures and can be used as that niche finisher. What more could you want? 4 copies in the deck because of the many ways it can be used, and because it will probably die early since its pretty squishy with only 1 toughness.

Boros Elite

1 / 1 +2
Boros Elite is in this deck for some early power. As you might've already seen, I am running 4 Legion Loyalists in this deck, which is together with this card enable their battalion effect easily. This card is a decent early game creature, can hit early if your opponent doesn't have any creatures yet, or can be used as a meatbag to stop that one creature one turn. But what made this creature get the spot in this deck is it's ability to scale into the mid game. The +2/+2 it recieves with its batalion ability is no joke, and as I told earlier, it is easily enabled. Having a 3/3 creature in the game with all the other buffs it might recieve from other cards makes it a force to reckon with. But your opponent isn't going to see it as one most of the time. So the dark-horse element that this card has makes it fit for this deck, having 2 copies in it should be enough, since it isnt as good as Legion Loyalist and because you dont want too many one mana cost creatures in your deck.

Akroan Hoplite

1 / 2 +3
Truth be told, I was really not sure what I thought about this card. I wasnt sure if it was good or bad, but in the end I decided to try it out in some versions of this deck, and was really convinced by it. I think that in this version of the deck its strenghts are really clear, without having the deck being build around him. The 2 toughness help a lot, it really needs it to not die vs small creatures or most tokens, and its effect is of course good in an aggro deck. It always has 2 power when attacking, since its counts as an attacking creature itself of course. 4 copies in this deck because it scales very well into the late game, making it very hard hitter with lots of creatures on the field, als a great target for cards like Boros Charms double strike and combos well with Legion Loyalist' trample and first strike ability.

Hero of Bladehold

3 / 4 +3
Instant Battalion trigger. Strong card overall, 3/4 for 4 mana isnt bad. It also helps that it isnt a legendary creature, so you can have multiple on the battlfeield at any time. The main reason that this card is in the deck, is as told earlier, that with its effect it can instantly trigger battalion. There are 3 in this deck because you really want to have a reliable way to trigger battalion.

Firemane Avenger

3 / 3 +4
One of my favourite cards, a strong card with a potentially very strong effect. a 3/3 flyer for 4 is pretty much normal, and with its battalion effect you get a free Lightning Helix every time you attack with 3 or more creatures. Having 4 of these in the deck means that you will always have this ability in the mid game, most probably even multiple. It is if like the creature gets lifelink and can't be blocked, or even better, kills the creature that can block and then still inflicts damage. The thing I want to say with this is, that Firemane Avengers effect works on both creatures and players, which is really strong.

Before I finished the description I realised that Firemane Avenger, who originally didnt make the cut, would be really great for this deck after all. I was typing my reasoning for Boros Reckoner when I thought "man, Firemane Avenger would actually just be better for this deck. So I switched them out.

Also I removed 1 Hero of Bladehold since I should have 3 creatures up who can attack at any time anyways, and also removed 1 Akroan Hoplite since having 4 of them might just be a little bit of an overkill.

But I was already done typing my reasoning for Boros Reckoner so I guess ill just leave it here. Do you guys agree with this decision? Or should Boros Reckoner come back for some other cards?

Boros Reckoner

3 / 3 +2
Potentially very strong card. A 3/3 creature for 3 that is easily summoned thanks to its 3 . This also helps with cards like Iroas, God of Victory and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Its effect allows it to do 6 damage in one turn at the very max, and makes blocking this creature without killing it a real pain as well. Thanks to its first strike for only one which is also easily paid, it makes it that better for dealing with creatures with low toughness, or counter other creatures with first strike. 2 of this card should be enough, since it is not a game breaking card, just a decent card for the mid game. I wasn't too sure about this card before, in almost all scenario's I was thinking "why should this card be in this deck" but for the reasons explained above it just made the cut. If better cards are released this one is probably the first to be removed.
