Warning: This deck does not follow the usual EDH template.

There are:

  • NO target removal specific cards.
  • NO board wipe cards.

Background:

I originally created the first iteration of this deck with two things in mind:

1) Showcase the angel cards in my collection.

2) Brew a tribal deck for play.

After a few sessions of piloting the deck in my play group, it soon dawned on me that the deck was great for casual play, but was severely lacking in speed and strength given the image Kaalia of the Vast portrayed. Every time my commander came out my play group would remove it immediately from fear of angels populating and taking over the board.

Our play group meta also encourages everyone to play how they want and hence infinite combos are of course allowed. As long as it is EDH legal we run with it. As such, our meta whilst labelled as 'casual' can at times also be quite competitive.

This soon transformed my deck to what is presented here.

I originally started with the usual EDH template of 5x target removals and 5x board wipes but have since replaced them with other cards. As much as it seems counter intuitive to not follow the template, I also want to explore the boundaries and decided to instead put redundancy into my deck to compensate for this short coming.

Thanks for viewing.
