The theme is Anafenza is the mistress of the three realms, Earth (Green), Heaven (White), and Hell (Black). The deck is designed to be a resilient fair deck and win based on incremental value rather than combo. I've tried to keep the curve low enough to be fast enough for Head-to-Head and Two-Headed Giant events at the shop but still be able to go long in multiplayer.

Why Anafenza, the Foremost and not one of the other more "powerful' Abzan commanders? One, her nerfing of graveyard shenanigans is immensely useful in Commander. Two, she doesn't draw instant hate from other players. Three, she comes down early when I need the tempo in head to head matchups. Four, the deck isn't built around her, so it's still good without her.

Typical line of play is to tutor for Academy Rector and get Lurking Predators into play. Then do what I can to manipulate the top card (Worldly Tutor, Congregation at Dawn).
