Introduction

Do you like to be that person that ruins others fun? Do you find yourself doing anything to win? Do you like making the game so unfun that people don’t want to play you again? If so, then this deck is just for you. Lead by Karador ’s brilliant command, this deck tries to manipulate your own lands for added bonuses while trying to lockdown your opponent’s. It builds off of cards like Exploration, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, and Oracle of Mul Daya to accelerate your lands. Meanwhile, you play cards like Sylvan Library, Rites of Flourishing, and Phyrexian Arena to accelerate your draw. Then you lay down the mean cards like Smokestack, Spelltithe Enforcer, and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger to start locking your opponents down. There is tons of fun to have with landfall and creature return cards too. So take over the game with the lands matter theme.

Reading this decklist Show

This decklist is organized into my custom categories. The categories where chosen to help spilt into function. Those categories are as follows:

• Card Draw: Cards that accelerate my hand
• Combo: The cards that make the deck function, like the win cons and sac outlets
• Control: Cards that disrupt my opponents or remove threats
• Lockdown: Cards that slow my opponents down
• Mana Accel: Cards that increase my mana output
• Realms: Lands of the deck
• Tutor: Cards that retrieve my combo pieces
• Utility: The extra effects cards like graveyard recursion and token generation
• Wrath: Mass destruction cards, also known as board wipes

The sideboard is a working list of extra cards that help support the deck, but aren't in the main list or couldn't make it into the main list.

The maybeboard is a working list of cards that are not in the deck, but are being considered for inclusion pending testing.

Note: The foils in the deck are there to signify importance to the overall strategy, not actual foil so.

Archetype: Combo-Control Show

This deck blends elements of Combo with elements of control to achieve a balance between powerful synergy and unrelenting punishment.

As a control deck, this list facilitates a win by suppressing or disrupting opponents' activity to create advantage. It utilizes land manipulation and destruction to not only to keep opponents off balance but to also protect your combo. Land Destruction, spot removal, and board wipes are tool to help disrupt opponents.

As a combo deck, this list wins by manipulating ones lands and their opponent's lands then using it to enable a finishers of some variety. Combo doesn't rely on life totals or board states; rather, it secures the victory by creating an insurmountable threat that functions immediately. It also means that the deck has a defined and consistent means of establishing victory.

Why ? Show

I chose because it offers what I believe to be the most consistant and punishing set you can get: draw power, removal, tutor power, and Mana Acceleration. These colors just excel at lockdown and ramp.

Why Karador? Show

At the time I built this deck I had some choices at my disposal. Those choices where: Anafenza, the Foremost, Daghatar the Adamant, Doran, the Siege Tower, Ghave, Guru of Spores, Karador, Ghost Chieftain, and Teneb, the Harvester. There is bound to be more to come out in the future, and each one will be assessed for either a spot in the deck or to replace the current Commander.

Anafenza, the Foremost was going to helm the deck at first. Her second effect is good for disrupting your opponent's strategies relying on the use of the graveyard, but the first effect was a waste to me. So in the end I chose something else.

Daghatar the Adamant is to focused on +1/+1 counters, which is a fun deck for itself. I wanted to go for a different route, so no go.

Doran, the Siege Tower is interesting if you wanted to go with the creature route. He does helm a variety of decks, but wouldn't do much for me and the strategy I wanted to go with. No go.

Ghave, Guru of Spores is good for combos, especially if your using combos the use +1/+1 counters. I wasn't....so....next!

Karador, Ghost Chieftain adds a unique twist to what I wanted to do. He adds a graveyard recursion that the deck was going to have, but he can keep it going. Because of this, I chose him for now.

Teneb, the Harvester is almost what I kind of wanted, but has a downside that I didn't want to depend on. Because he is only useful if he deals damage directly to my opponents, I went with something else.
