This deck's focus is about playing an infinite loop of creatures with ETB effects. Win conditions:

  • THE COMBO: The most straight forward way is with cheating the mana costs with Aluren, the other key component is how to bounce the card back into your hand and that is with Cloudstone Curio. This is the combo you are trying to assemble, and it should come down in one turn. But just playing creatures does not win a game unless the creature does direct damage like Ghitu Slinger or Parasitic Strix.
  • STORM: The way to win while performing infinite summonings is to have a storm card like Grapeshot or Brain Freeze.
  • MILL: Another way to win while performing infinite summonings is to have Altar of the Brood in play so you mill all your opponents out.
  • AGGRO: A less desirable way to win is to assemble an army of tokens through Mogg War Marshal or Nest Invader for an attack next turn.
  • HALF COMBO: Sometimes you can only get half of a combo, such as only getting Aluren. You can still create an infinite amount of creature summonings with the 5 creatures that have return a creature back to your hand, unfortunately those cards do not have any other cool ETB effects so you will have to storm or mill to victory.
  • HALF COMBO: And then there is the other half of the combo, only getting Cloudstone Curio. You can still create an infinite amount of creature summonings with the 5 creatures that have zero mana cost, but again they don't have any ETB effects so you will have to storm or mill to victory.
  • DRAWING YOUR DECK: Perhaps the most common & general is to get creatures with "draw a card" ETB effects so you can draw your deck into your hand. There is assistance in the enchantment Elemental Bond which can turn all of your summonings into card draw. At that point there are creatures to have your opponents discard their hands, destroy enchantments & artifacts and to build up a mana pool. Then you will definitely have access to all your toolbox, but most commonly you will storm to win.

So the strategy of the deck is to delay your opponents long enough for you to assemble the combo. The delaying tactics are:

Remember to first build up your mana base and tutor for your combo pieces:

  • Five sorceries for getting basic lands and building your land base
  • Five tutor cards for finding the pieces of your combo
  • Two transmute pieces for finding the combo
