Karlov has stepped down from the Commander position and has joined the 99 under Kambal.

This deck is themed around taxation. I tax everybody for anything I can. I am in love.

A few things are under performing so I'm cutting them. In addition the pet cards aren't working out, but I dont have anything great so... different pet cards!

Removed:
- Ragged Veins
- Imp's Mischief
- Crawlspace
- Gonti, Lord of Luxury
- Sign in Blood
- Cruel Entertainment
- Underworld Connections
- Sudden Spoiling
- Westvale Abbey

Added:
+ Crown of Doom
+ Armory Automaton
+ Grasp of Fate
+ Hero's Downfall
+ Grand Abolisher
+ Erebos, God of the Dead
+ Aura of Silence
+ Debtor's Knell
+ Reliquary Tower

- Animate Dead
- Tragic Slip
+ Cruel Entertainment
+ Orzhov Advokist

As a deck that is an imitation of a government, taxation is my primary goal. Saying this, Orzhov Advokist is an odd addition as it goes against my theme. I'm interested to see how the politics of the card work out, however. Knowing who has a hard time deciding to take the counters, or someone who outright refuses really lets me know the attitude of the group and will help me decide lines of play that will benefit me most. Cruel Entertainment is amazingly funny. The glaring weakness of the card is stupidly simple to avoid. DONT PLAY IT AT PARITY OR WHEN YOU'RE AHEAD (yes that makes the card terrible, but I cant help but love it). I've had interesting results in the couple games I managed to cast it in Yidris, so I'm finding it a home in a deck that makes sense.

Animate Dead is a good card but is an easy cut as it doesn't really fit the theme I've cultured, or the strategy of the deck. Tragic Slip is a great card against one player in my meta who has a love of the Theros Gods Karametra and Xenagos. Every other time is it just decent removal. I have two pet cards that are more obvious choices for a cut (Ragged Veins and Imp's Mischief), but until they prove to be more annoying to hold onto than Tragic Slip has they'll stay.

This deck has been a blast so far. I regularly play in 3 man pods against creature heavy decks, but it still manages to pull out some wins. It is disgusting in larger groups, taxing like no government has taxed before in a 5 person game today.
I am finding that while Monarch is a fun mechanic, Knights of the Black Rose and Marchesa's Decree dont really pull any weight on their own. My board presence is generally pretty weak, so Monarch is easily taken and hard to get back. If this eventually becomes a Queen Marchesa deck they will likely make their way back in as a sub-theme.

I'm removing:
- Knights of the Black Rose
- Marchesa's Decree
- Grand Abolisher
- Hero's Downfall
And adding:
- Chalice of Life
- Ragged Veins
- Animate Dead
- Sudden Spoiling
