I've wanted to make a goblin deck in EDH since I started in the format. Krenko, Mob Boss drew too much hate and put me in monored which is just bad, let's be very clear, that's a bad color identity. Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician had the same issue. I didn't like Wort, Boggart Auntie 's ability didn't seem good enough and her Shadowmoor version isn't a goblin tribal commander. Neither is Mizzix of the Izmagnus. So I had to look elsewhere outside of goblins to lead my goblins. This started as a Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa with Vial Smasher the Fierce deck but I realized I usually want my goblins to be bigger than 2 and green wasn't giving me much. Then I remembered Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, who synergizes incredibly well with all the great goblin etbs in the form of Mogg War Marshal, Boggart Harbinger and Goblin Ringleader among many others. Goblins are also very fragile and enjoy being sacrificed so getting them back is a great tool up my sleeve. Mardu also puts me in good anthem colors, gives me Odric, Master Tactician and gives me more removal options.
