Bruna, Light of Alabaster , a beautiful card that is, to my mind completely out of place in Innistrad block. A more aura-lacking block, I have not seen. So this deck is designed to use her to her full potential.
The idea came from a decision between me and my friend SinSilveraeon to make commander decks based around Avacyn Restored's legendary angel trio (AKA the Powerpuff Girls). As such this is a sister deck to grisela-flaming-goldnight. Unfortunately, Gisela still thoroughly kicks Bruna's butt. Help me fix that with your suggestions and helpful commentary!
Maybeboard represents cards that will probably be swapped in as I acquire them
Pretty much comes straight from Bruna's Card Text. Stack Bruna with enchantments and deal 21 commander damage within a couple turns. The deck can be thought to have three main parts: Stall, Self-mill, and Auras.
Stall: A combination of dedicated stall cards, usually in the form of prohibitive enchantments, and creatures that can be buffed up to no end. Both buy me time to get Bruna out.
Self-mill: To make the most of Bruna's ability, I generally want as many Auras as I can get out on the battlefield or in the graveyard. As such, any Aura's not attached to my stall creatures will be intentionally milled straight to the grave, ready to be scooped up by our favorite angel.
Auras: The meat of the deck. I want plenty of high-quality Auras with enough redundancy of effects and power boosts that Bruna will consistently be a powerhouse when she finally appears.
Okay, my maybeboard here is a bit cluttered, so new ideas have been going in the Sideboard.
I feel like I would prefer to move this deck more towards control, with transmute-like elements to help me combo properly. I'm rotten at countering, so Arrest -esque enchantments would be preferable, and perhaps some sleep effects.
The enchantments need to be narrowed down. Cards like card:Serra's Boon that serve a dual purpose are great, but the Holy Strength s need to be gone. So, better beefing-up and multi-purpose enchants are needed. It would be even better if these enchants were transmutable (the transmute cards I will be using are in the sideboard).
Self-mill is definitely staying, and in fact I need more of it. I finally got to play a game with Mirror-Mad Phantasm in there and it was awesome. XP
Any suggestions for good control cards and/or a better enchantment list?
I know how good Corrupted Conscience is in this deck, but I keep forgetting to grab it when I'm at the card shop. XP
Besides, I usually do lethal commander damage without Bruna, often thanks to the many forms of evasion I run (Eldrazi Conscription 's trample, card:Infiltrator's Magemark, Steel of the Godhead , Spirit Mantle 's protection, etc.)
Typo fix: Lethal commander damage without infect while using Bruna
My point was that I usually have all that set up before I ever drop and attack. So I don't need infect. Besides, the number of poison counters required in EDH isn't actually specified. Most playcircles consider 20 counters to be the death limit. (Since a normal 20 life game requires 10, and a 30 life 2-headed giant game requires 15.)
Nice deck idea man i made one awhile ago and used creature support like Stormtide Leviathan or land enchantment cards to turn 1 or more of my opponent's lands into an island then use something like Fishliver Oil for unblockable win conditions instead of looking to buff i would focus on making her unblockable first buffs come easy after that also if u like Spirit Mantle then you will love Holy Mantle and for self mill you might wanna look into Chill of Foreboding might as well mill your opponent at the same time i know its a 2 hitter quitter and the flashback is expensive but a well placed mill can screw up an opponents plans like after they use liliana to tutor top deck over all though i think you have some top notch enchantments and ideas here good job +1
