Hi there!

Recently I had wanted to create a deck that was both flavourful in terms of lore aswell as interesting to play. The deck I came up with is in my opinion easy to understand, fun to meddle with and powerful if handled well. This is a Blue/White combo deck focusing in the synergy between archeomancer and ghostly flicker. Through those two spells we aim to abuse "When enters battlefield" effects depends on the needs we have at the time and the matchup. These targets are Cathedral Sanctifier for healing in long-drawn aggro matchups, keeping us in the game and slowing our opponent down as much as possible. It should also be noted that through Ghostly flicker's instant speed it can be used after declaring blockers to nullify combat damage. Later we have Sandsteppe Outcast which allows for a certain inevitability aswell as sustained presence on the board if protected properly. While his +1 counter can be relevant at times, the mode of summoning a 1/1 spirit can be abused to a point of making as many tokens as we can, for as long as the outcast remains alive from the huge target on his back. This is especially useful if the opponent cannot handle fliers though it also poses a decent threat against control decks because he can replenish his board state quite quickly. Next, prismatic prism for continuous card draw as the low quality of our cards demands that we keep drawing. Finally, aiding in bouncing off our creatures is Deputy of Acquittals who is fairly cheap for what he can accomplish. Not only does he act as a semi flicker, but he can also provide synergy with it it comes of blocking combat damage. Blocking with a deputy, an archeomancer and let's say a cathedral sanctifier before casting a ghostly flicker that targets the first two can potentially block 3 creature's combat damage without any losses other than bouncing 1 creature back to our hand, which in this case is a good thing. Potentially, this can slow down aggro decks tremendously.

Now obviously, to be able to handle this combo we need a good deal of card draw to ramp us up to the mana we need for constantly sustaining it. For that purpose we have Compulsive research aswell as Scroll of Avacyn which are meant to keep our hands filled. Compulsive research specifically can also combo with archeomancer if we're in need to bouncing it back from out graveyard.

Finally, since our deck wants to slow down the board as much as possible we're playing into a great deal of healing. First in that list is indeed Cathedral Sanctifier only followed by scroll of avacyn, who's angel trigger is applied by a playset of Seraph of dawn. Not only can these angels shut down most fliers but the lifelink on them makes them increadibly hard to deal with. The 5 health given from the scrolls can also slow down the game as much as 2 combat phases, giving us the time to complete our combo. Finally, a 2/4 flier is hard to block for most decks, making it a nice addition in an army of 1/1 spirits that aim to beat down our opponent slow and steadily... Unless they concede.

The strategy suggests keeping a full hand when at all possible, casting things as slowly as we can and making use of our vast life total in order to continue building up to our combo. Our main priority is safeguarding our creatures with ghostly flicker and Safe Passage from removal spells and trying to win the game through card value and consistency.
