"Blades dull and armor dents. Marisi taught us that instinct is the only true thing a warrior needs."-Ajani Goldmane

This is a fun and cheap mono-white life-gain/counter deck that puts up results. Deck revolves around Ajani's Pridemate, but is not limited to it. There are numerous ways to gain life and tick counters. Win-cons are provided by the planeswalkers and Armored Ascension. You can swap Path to Exile with other removal spells such as Oust or Condemn if you're on a serious budget. Lets take a closer look...

Creatures

Ajani's Pridemate: the all-star. This card is a solid two drop that can acquire a good amount of counters overwhelmingly fast. Enchantments like Divine Favor can turn this guy into a swinging 4/7 by turn three.

Nyx-Fleece Ram: a great early game blocker that doubles as a reliable life-gain source every upkeep. It is also noteworthy that it can attack later on if needed; Armored Ascension makes this viable.

Soul's Attendant: another reliable life-gain source. Fantastic card to get out turn one before any creatures are played. Makes Ajani's Pridemate huge within no-time.

Soldier of the Pantheon: stellar against multi-colored decks. Even if your opponent is running a mono-colored deck, a 2/1 for only one mana isn't terrible.

Knight of the White Orchid: a 2/2 with first strike that helps pull land out of the deck and fuel Armored Ascension and Emeria, The Sky Ruin.

Sun Titan: it wouldn't be right to make a mono-white deck without this guy...but no, seriously, sun titan is great and fits along with the curve. He can resurrect Ajani, Caller of the Pride, and any other creature we run back from the dead.

Enchantments

Armored Ascension: the main win-con in the deck. Turns the creatures into flying threats. Since the deck is mono-white, the creatures will get a pretty nice buff.

Banishing Light: a staple removal enchantment in mono-white decks that will take care of anything Path to Exile can't, with the exception of lands.

Instants

Brave the Elements: this card does a lot. Gives our creatures immunity from removal, lets us swing unblockable, lets us block big threats--all for one mana.

Path to Exile: best removal in modern, no need to say more.

Sorcery

Wrath of God: a great field wipe that will stop an opponents overwhelming board-state.

Land

Plains: an incredible land that taps for white mana. A staple in mono-white decks.

Emeria, The Sky Ruin: one of the main reasons to run mono-white. Late game, consistently brings back any creature from the graveyard to play.

Planeswalkers

Ajani, Caller of the Pride: his -2 is a good finisher, he can tick +1/1 counters on creatures, and best of all, he is resurrectable by Sun Titan.

Ajani Goldmane: solid life-gainer, and only 3 turns away from an ult. I found him to be a little overkill in the deck, but he isn't out of place.

Conclusion

This isn't a turn four combo deck that will win from the same cheeky mechanics every game, nor is it an boring infinite combo deck. This deck is a simple, flexible, cheap deck that can be tweaked to keep gameplay fresh.
