Stumbled upon Artisan of Kozilek in my collection. It's easier to get on the field, got 10 toughness, and an effect that will mesh better with the deck:

+1 Artisan of Kozilek-1 Pathrazer of Ulamog

Sea Gate Loremaster is great for draw if you end up splashing blue.

Since I have 12 red cards in the deck, I can afford to sideboard Islands and a set of blue creatures to switch in for them, and I've thought of doing that.

Mimic Vat looks awesome, especially when used on Kazuul Warlord . I'll have to get myself a couple of those.

Instead of Jungle Shrine , I think I would go with something like Ancient Ziggurat , considering more than half the deck is creatures. Just slightly faster, and can stay in if I were to switch in the blue set for the red.

Also, Contagion Engine instead of the Clasps? I might be able to, considering after playtesting I've been getting mana quicker than I thought thanks to Harabaz Druid .

If you're looking for speed, you need to drop either Kazuul Warlord or Turntimber Ranger . One or the other needs to go. Maybe both.

-2 Joraga Bard and -2 Highland Berserker +4 Adaptive Automaton

You need wipe recovery. Genesis Wave only works when you have allies, not after they've been wiped. I'd recommend Lead the Stampede or Bloodbraid Elf.

Why no Ondu Cleric s? They are really useful and even if you just put 1 in they can be a big boon. Also have you though about putting a Vedalken Orrery in there? Being able to drop allies as an instant could prove to be really useful. Also don't forget how dangerous boardwhipes are for allies but with those decks your up against I think you should be fine.

How does everyone feel about Graypelt Hunter ? What would it replace?

I LOVE allies!! +1

I always found Tajuru Archer to be more of a sideboard ally.

Genesis Wave can be really fun in a ally deck (though very inconsistent).

Instead of Rebuff the Wicked (which cannot counter Oblivion Ring ) use Vines of Vastwood . It is a more versitle card while still protecting your creatures.

Take a look at my ally deck Modern Naya Allies.

Thanks for your comment. I did take a look at your deck, and I like it very much!

I chose Lead the Stampede over Genesis Wave because it is cheaper and more consistent. With this deck Genesis Wave would be a very late-game card, much like Doubling Chant . The only difference is Doubling Chant requires 1 Forest instead of 3 and you already know what you're getting for the 6 mana.

And on second thought, you're right about Rebuff the Wicked . Vines of Vastwood is the better card in this case. Thanks for the help.

Thanks :D

They need to make new ones. The Allies archtype is still my favorite in all of Magic.

If you end up splashing blue, Venser, the sojourner works really well with allies, throw in some Jwari Shapeshifter, Clone, or Rite of Replication in there and it makes their ablities that much more amazing.Just a thought.

I had previously thought of switching Hagra Diabolist for Seascape Aerialist or Kazuul Warlord , all of which have a CMC of 5 and all of which have devastating effects. I chose Diabolist because his effect, paired with Doubling Chant or with another Diabolist, is a near-guaranteed win.

Have you tried Genesis Wave ? It can end games very fast provided enough mana is put into it.

Not to beat a dead horse, but if you try out blue, Halimar Excavator gives you another win condition and Jwari Shapeshifter is pretty sweet too.

Hope this helps =D
