The focus is quick board control, while keeping enough removal to keep the dinos at bay.
The main focus of the deck is the raid mechanic. This will allow you to enable +1/+1 on your Rigging Runners, giving you a 2/2 with first strike for 1 red, as well as card advantage with Ruin Raider
Hard Removal is important as the current meta will see dino decks everywhere, cards like Walk the Plank and Fatal Push will give you a massive edge. And if your opponent uses god cards like Bontu the Glorified, Vraska's Contempt will give you exile removal and an edge in these matchups. As well as that, Merfolk will be common in certain matchups, meaning adding cards like Fiery Cannonade Will quickiliy shut them down, escpecially with the early stages in board control and against those nasty 1/1 merfolks with hexproof, and will be a good replacement to Walk the Plank should you fight against the merfolk matchup.
For the sideboard, I wanted to add a little removal for things that don't already exsist in the the deck. If your opponent is playing merfolk, Abrade is a brilliant replacement to Walk the Plank. Giving you a total of 24 damage in creature removal with lightning bolts, and giving you gas against merfolk cards. Fiery Cannonade isgood early ame, giving you removal to the merfolk your opponent controls ealry in the game.
The last major key note: you'll want either Vanquisher's Banner or Fell Flagship, as well as Metallic Mimic. This is tribal pirates, and getting cards that buff your armada of the Ixalan seas is important. Now, preferably you will want Fell Flagship, giving pirates +1/+0 and the possibly forced block to avoid card discard from your opponent. But you'll need these cards on the field and quick as the faster you get them out, the quicker you can put pressure on the opponent.
