Aggro and Taxes (Standard MTG Deck)

I've been wanting to put this deck together since I first saw Archangel of Tithes and Kytheon, Hero of Akros . I LOVE white soldiers and warriors, and it makes me really happy that it is viable in the current standard.

This deck plays really fast and really aggressively, but it can also hold its own in the long game. It isn't quite as fast as mono-red goblins/aggro, but it is fast enough to deal with it and still get bodies on the board.

The sideboard is set up to be able to slot in 2-5 cards against pretty much anything I'm seeing in the current meta.

This is not a post-rotation deck (obviously). It is going to lose some key cards at rotation (namely Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Brimaz, King of Oreskos, along with some others).

I've given consideration to future-proofing it, but I feel like it would just be too weak without the M15 and Theros-block stuff. So, there's going to need to be a decent amount of rework once the rotation happens.

That being said, I feel like it will still have a strong enough core to be viable to carry on, in some form.

...and a splash of green! — Sept. 1, 2015

After a lot of back and forth on the idea, I decided that it was worth it to splash green for Dromoka's Command. The card is just great and slotted in easily in place of 2 Valorous Stance and Banishing Light, with a LOT more utility than either. I moved the Valorous Stances to the sideboard so that I can pull them in when needed (specifically against burn).

I'm pretty happy with how this has been testing so far and I'm looking forward to trying it out at FNM.
