Maybeboard

Taking on death, one hapless soul at a time.

This is you, playing this deck.

Karador, Ghost Chieftain is back and better than ever! Instead of being ran as a straight up reanimator, I'm now using this deck as a toolbox of sorts using low-cost creatures that I can use over and over again.

Disruption:

Tidehollow Sculler, Mesmeric Fiend , Leonin Relic-Warder and Angel of Serenity all serve for disruption purposes. With a sac outlet, they are permanent exile once a turn so long as Karador is on the field.

Qasali Pridemage and Kataki, War's Wage serve as mainly artifact hate with the added bonus of the pridemage hitting enchantments too.

Defenses:

Graveyard disruption is a pain in the ass, so we have True Believer to stop targeted effects before they happen, and Riftsweeper in case we miss.

Spore Frog will annoy many a player, but Peacekeeper is likely to get tables flipped. Use at your own risk

Mindslicer removes hands from the game without all the gore of cutting them off yourself.

Tools in the toolshed

Sakura-Tribe Elder and Dawntreader Elk are repeatable instant speed ramp spells. Perfect for this deck. Even better is Knight of the Reliquary who manafixes and pulls out important lands for later.

Special note goes to Greenseeker for being probably the perfect card for any Karador deck. If it were legal, I'd say run four. Pitching creatures to manafix, or just have a land in hand to recast Worm Harvest over and over again is just gravy.

Birthing Pod...oh how I love thee, let me count the ways. Who knew Elesh Norn was only 1 mana away?

Yosei, the Morning Star is a bit situational in the sense that in a multiplayer game, locking someone out of the game is likely to get you ganged up on. Luckily for you, that won't matter by this point.

Combos

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion= infinite damage. This combo is widely known, but so easy to pull off in this deck it's practically its main win con.

Reveillark+Karmic Guide+Saffi Eriksdotter=Infinite recursion. Do you want your graveyard on the battlefield? Because this is how you get your graveyard on the battlefield. Add in a sac outlet and a sun titan, and lands are fair game too.

Everything Else

Golgari Grave-Troll and the rest of the dredge cards are the engine that keeps this deck going. Play them, protect them, and they will love you forever.

Kessig Cagebreakers is an excellent little removal magnet, and if it sticks around to attack, you get some cool 2/2s. Seems legit.

Splinterfright is fantastic. From Trample to its potentially insane power, it's one of the stars in this deck. Killed an entire table once with it and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Good times...

Closing notes:

This deck is not about impressing opponents with massive creatures, or about swarming the battlefield with tokens, although it has the potential to do both. This deck is designed to win via a battle of Attrition. You outlast everyone else because once their hands are empty, their game is slowing down while yours is just beginning. Your early game will consist of getting your engines going and preventing people from erasing whatever board presence you build, and your late game is simply bring out the big guns and turn them sideways.

What I am looking for:

I am looking for ways to speed it up, fix my early game issues, and get my engine going with as much consistency as possible. Preferably creature based advice since all creatures are food for Karador and difficult to permanently get rid of in this deck. I need sac outlets, versatile/well-costed creatures that would fit the "toolbox" theme to this deck, as well as alternate win conditions aside from Mikaeus and triskelion or beating face. Any advice you have would be much appreciated!

Updates Add

-1 Wood Elves

+1 Teysa, Orzhov Scion

A tough choice in the end between setting up some ramp, or adding another combo piece. I decided on the latter, Teysa combos infinitely with Karmic Guide and Reveillark to exile every creature I can target. In addition, it is a fairly low cost combo, and the chances of me getting out the pieces are fairly high. The Recommendations from this update and the one before it are courtesy of enpc
