Abzan Planeswalker Control

The idea

This deck utilizes the fact that most decks in modern don´t play that much basic lands.

The "give your opponent basics-cards" become better and better throughout the game and eventually become the best cards of their respective type:

• Field of Ruin becomes an upgraded Strip Mine
• Assassin's Trophy becomes an instantspeed Vindicate for only two mana
• Path to Exile becomes the best spotremoval ever printed
• Settle the Wreckage becomes an instantspeed Plague Wind for four mana

The problem

You can build Abzan in various ways. The usual way is to build a midrange-deck with cards like Tarmogoyf as the beater. Or you can put in some hateful creatures like Knight of Autumn. Grindy folks use cards like Lingering Souls for offense and defense.

The solution

This brought me to the glorious Abzan Triumvirate - one version for every playstyle.

Here I have chosen to control the opponent and put pressure on him with various planeswalkers. Nearly every walker can snowball out of control on his own, let alone in multiples.

For example: Some decks simply can´t beat an emblem from Gideon of the Trials in game one. Other decks fold to Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Really, there are so many great options to build abzan, but the core should always be Assassin's Trophy, Path to Exile and Field of Ruin.
