Abzan Aristocrat Clues

Standard* BGW (Abzan, Junk)

Syllit

Sideboard

I originally tried to make this work with Naya colors and Pia Nalaar, but I felt Abzan worked better, so here's my attempt at this one. Just a disclaimer though, I'm not all that good at making decks, so any and all advice is really appreciated.

Creatures

Kessig Prowler and Thraben Inspector are the two 1 drops I'm running in this deck. Prowler can get in early for some damage or discourage the opponent from attacking early if they don't want to trade. Inspector gives us a clue, which we'll want a lot of, and can block things with just one power. Bygone Bishop gives us a flying blocker, and also gives us a clue whenever we play any creature in this deck, since everything is under 3 CMC. Bloodbriar is kind of lacking, but you can get some extra value out of him that you can't get out of the other backbones of the deck because his ability is whenever you sac ANY permanent, like Evolving Wilds or Selfless Spirit if you boarded against control, in addition to the clues you'll be sacrificing. For the backbones of the deck we have Tireless Tracker and Syndicate Trafficker. Tracker gives us clues and value out of sacing clues, whilst Trafficker gives us a nice sac outlet for 1 mana instead of 2, which is a lot more helpful than you might thing. Just as a tip, you need to sac the clues with Traffickers ability to give him counters, if you sac to draw a card he won't get them.

Sacrificing

If you're going to want to win with this deck, you're going to need to sac a lot of clues for as much value as you can. Tireless Tracker, Bloodbriar, and Syndicate Trafficker all get bigger as you sac, Ulvenwald Mysteries gives you some creatures you can chump with or swing with. Collective Effort is removal if you're really in a pinch, but it's usually going to be cast for making all your guys bigger and blowing something up. It combos nicely with Ulvenwald Mysteries if you can sac a lot of clues on you opponents end step to get a lot of 1/1's, then you can tap 1 of those guys down and make everyone else a lot bigger while blowing up their biggest creature. Tamiyo's Journal can sac 3 clues without having to pay any mana, which is very helpful, plus as an added effect you can tutor for something, which will usually be a Collective Effort unless you really need creatures.

Removal

Not a whole lot of removal in the deck, 3 copies of Collective Effort, which I went over above, 2 copies of Declaration in Stone, with 2 more in the board for token decks, 2 copies of Ruinous Path for dealing with big creatures or for planeswalkers that are well defended. In the board is Angelic Purge, which you can sac a clue to and hit Aritfacts or Enchantments, which may or may not be really important for Kaladesh, but also indestructible creatures that other removal can't hit (looking at you Avacyn and Ormendhal...). Last but not least, the real sleeper that is Expose Evil. It's been really helpful for me in playtesting because not only does it let you investigate at instant speed, you can also tap down their best creatures to slow them down or to make it more difficult for them to block while you swing for lethal.

Sideboard

I'll keep this breif, since I feel my board may be differnt from what you want to run for your local scene, or just that I'll probably be changing this a lot. Selfless Spirit protects against boardwipes, Angelic Purge is artifact removal and extra creature removal, Permeating Mass switches places with Kessig Prowler if the opponent is playing aggro, Declaration in Stone is for use against tokens, and Graf Mole is an oddball of sorts since a lot of people at my LGS play either Rakdos burn or Thermo-Alchemist decks, and the life gain is really relevant.

Last Touches

This deck, SUCKS, against boardwipes. Ulvenwald Mysteries helps us out since it gives us a clue whenever a non-token creature dies, but it really slows us down. Declaration in Stone hurts a lot if we make a lot of 1/1's, so try to always crack clues on an opponents end step, unless you can pump creatures for lethal during combat or need to keep Syndicate Trafficker alive, that way you not only keep your creatures safe from sorcery speed removal but also have a lot of 1/1's you essentially flashed in, and can now attack.
