A peasant cube. I've tried to balance including fun cards I wouldn't play elsewhere, cards with interesting art, and actual draft bombs. I've also included a "what the hell is this old card" theme, since I often play with folks who missed most of the 1990s.

Ideally, the cube will highlight cards that have power, but might not otherwise be able to shine in a cube full of mythics and rares. Incidentally, I had most of these cards sitting in boxes and I wanted to put them to good use.

This is a peasant cube which means Commons and Uncommons only. Each colour has access to 11 Uncommons and 39 Commons, while each Guild has 3 Uncommons and 2 Commons on a theme. Each 'pack' has 4 Uncommons and 11 Commons.

The cube supports mono-colour decks (Suicide Black, Green Stompy, Blue Fliers, White Weenies, and Red Burn), but is built with the idea that people will focus on a particular guild.

  1. Orzhov supports an aristocrats theme, but could also go with weenie aggro.
  2. Gruul is here to beat down, but can also take a mid-range approach.
  3. Azorius can support control or evading small creatures.
  4. Dimir supports control.
  5. Simic has a weird draw-go subthemes using flash creatures and counter magic.
  6. Rakdos wants you dead before it runs out of life, but can also play more interactively with access to quality removal.
  7. Selesnya, you won't believe it, makes tokens.
  8. Izzet can go all-spells or spellslinger with creature-based payoffs.
  9. Golgari has access to quality reanimation, but can also go a token/sacrifice route.
  10. Boros cares about combat, but can also make a potent burn deck.

This cube is short on fixing intentionally, as I don't want to make it too easy to splash a third colour. Want to build a grixis deck, maybe you need to grab that Manalith

Any suggestions for fun additions are welcome. I'm also trying to limit hexproof/shroud creatures, since those tend not to be super fun to deal with.
