Gideon's Intervention —April 14, 2017

Gideon's Intervention single handedly houses Purphoros, God of the Forge which is great given we have an aggressive mono-red deck that just got added to the meta.

What about Pernicious Deed instead of Merciless Eviction ?

I had it in here forever but lately the exile clause of Merciless Eviction has been worth the mana. We have a lot of graveyard decks floating around.

Wow I never thought of that combo. Although sadly Eureka is a bit out of my price range though for my deck. I'm not going to bother with some of the more expensive stuff like that since I generally only get to play commander like 1-2 times a month anyways.

Definitely going to try and aim for a foil As Foretold though if possible.

I most certainly agree, Foil As Foretold will be awesome looking.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your combo doesn't work, because Rhystic Study will not trigger as Card:Eureka does not cast the card. Per the ruling on Gatherer "The cards are put onto the battlefield and will not trigger effects which trigger on such cards being cast or played." . That would be broken as heck if it worked, though.

It's not a combo... read the comment, any draw spell will fill my hand and lead to an explosive and often hilarious Eureka. The only thing Rhystic Study or any draw spell will do is set it up.

@chosenone124, I'd imagine cost, price, and less removal are main factors.

CMC and the creature hate in my meta primarily

Spike Weaver doesn't seem like a good defense for a meta full of creature hate. Perhaps Solitary Confinement or Crawlspace?

Both allow damage to be redirected to planeswalkers so they are ineffective

Can we talk for a moment about sandwurm convergence cuz that card just topped my list of enchantments to fetch with Academy Rector woot woot!

I'm considering going more enchantment heavy with my own deck as I can tutor or bumble my way into other fun things to do and lock down the board in a mulit-player game (rather than just one v one) #EnchantingSideboard

Sandwurm convergence is rather interesting. I think I will be wanting at least 1 copy of it myself.

April 13, 2017 10:41 p.m.

So expensive....So hilarious.... It may be worth adding as it acts both as pillowfort and offense. What to take out?

Spike Weaver. The reason you didn't take him out is because there were no equally good fort alternatives right?

Maybe take out Lethal Vapors? Or how do you find that card, I myself have never actually played with the card or against anyone with it, and so I'm just wondering how often does it stay around on average?

April 13, 2017 11:03 p.m.

Both of which are valid options, as for Lethal Vapors it usually sticks several turns until removal or desperation are found.
