Hi, this is my pauper Sliver deck. Pauper is a budget constructed mtg format in which you can only use cards printed at the common rarity. This allows for a format where you can play with cards you would never consider using in other constructed formats; and in addition, there are many cards which are banned or are not legal in other formats such as Counterspell.

The core cards of the deck are the 2-mana lords; Muscle Sliver, Sinew Sliver and Predatory Sliver. These creatures are all 1/1 creatures for two mana ( or ) that give all your slivers +1/+1 (including themselves). Predatory Sliver only gives slivers YOU control +1/+1 while Muscle Sliver and Sinew Sliver give +1/+1 to ALL slivers on the battlefield, including those your opponent controls, so keep that in mind when playing against another sliver deck or a decks playing cards that have ''Changeling''.

As an aggro deck, we want as many useful 1-drops as possible. Plated Sliver and Sidewinder Sliver are both 1/1 pseudo-lords for . Plated Sliver gives all Slivers +0/+1 and Sidewinder Sliver gives all Slivers ''Flanking''; ''Flanking'' is a keyword ability that states: “Whenever this creature becomes blocked by a creature without flanking, the blocking creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn.” (Something noteworthy is the fact that flanking stacks, so if you have 2 Sidewinder Slivers on the battlefield, the blocking creature gets -2/-2), this is great against decks that play a lot of 1/1 and/or create a lot of 1/1 tokens as it makes it difficult for them to chump block, one such deck is Elves. Virulent Sliver is a 1/1 creature for that gives all Slivers the keyword ability ''Poisonous 1''; ''Poisonous 1'' states “Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, that player gets 1 poison counter.”, this is similar to ''Infect'' in that it gives your opponent poison counters, but the difference is that creatures with ''Poisonous 1'' deal damage normally as well (''Poisonous 1'' also stacks, so if you control 2 Virulent Slivers, your opponent gets 2 poison counters for each Sliver damaging them.). Virulent Sliver is great as it gives us an alternative win-con, and allows us to win through life-gain decks. Another 1-drop is Metallic Sliver, which is a 1/1 artifact creature for , this creature gives no buffs to other Slivers, but does receive them. This creature is good for various reasons; being able to cast it turn 1 no matter which coloured land you have in hand, as in pauper, multi-coloured decks have clunky mana bases; it is also good, as it is an artifact creature, which helps us play around Wrench Mind. Another 1 mana Sliver is Striking Sliver, which is a 1/1 Sliver that gives Slivers you control ''First Strike'', the problem with this card is that it costs , making it hard to cast in a deck.

There are many useful 2 mana Slivers that help the deck in certain match-ups. Sentinel Sliver is a 2/2 Sliver for that gives Slivers you control ''Vigilance'', this allows us to attack without fear of not having blockers, this is useful against other creature decks. Spinneret Sliver is a 2/2 Sliver for that gives all Slivers ''Reach''; ''Reach'' can be very useful in pauper with Mulldrifter, Delver of Secrets  , Spellstutter Sprite, Faerie Miscreant and Kor Skyfisher all being in the top 10 most played creatures in the format (As of may 2018). Both Sentinel Sliver and Spinneret Sliver have the added bonus of being bears (2/2 for 2 mana), making them the optimal play on turn 2 if you also have a lord in hand. Talon Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that gives all Slivers ''First Strike'', this just allows for more favourable attacks and blocks. Quick Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that gives all Slivers ''Flash''; ''Flash'' allows for Slivers to be played at any time you could cast an instant spell, this is great against decks that play a lot of counters, as you can play your creatures in response to other spells and at the end of your opponents turn, forcing them have a more inefficient use of their mana. Gemhide Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that allows all Slivers to be tapped to generate any colour mana, this is only really useful in decks that splash extra colours, which is not recommended; althogh N1CKLES demonstrated that a deck playing Gemhide Sliver with Hunter Sliver and non- sideboard cards is playable. Some non- 2 mana Slivers are also worth mentioning. Hunter Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that gives all Slivers ''Provoke'', ''Provoke'' allows us to force favourable blocks to remove an opponent creatures. Frenzy Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that gives all Slivers ''Frenzy'', Frenzy Sliver was played quite a while ago to some favourable results, but nowadays I would not recommend it, even if you are already splashing for extra colours. Crypt Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that allows us to tap Slivers to regenerate target Sliver, this works really well with Sentinel Sliver, as even if they block your creatures favourably, you can still tap them to regenerate them. Heart Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that gives all Slivers ''Haste'', and Winged Sliver is a 1/1 Sliver for that gives all Sliver ''Flying'', not much to say about them apart from the obvious.

3 drop wise, there aren't many useful Slivers to talk about. Horned Sliver is a 2/2 Sliver for that gives all Slivers ''Trample''. Poultice Sliver is a 2/2 Sliver for that gives all Slivers '', : Regenerate target Sliver.'', this is only useful in longer attrition match-ups where you have a lot of spare mana. My personal favourite 3 drop is Homing Sliver; Homing Sliver is a 2/2 Sliver for that gives all Sliver in your hand ''Slivercycling '', it also has ''Slivercyling '' itself; ''Slivercyling'' allows you to pay a certain mana cost, discard a sliver, and search your library for a Sliver card and put it in your hand, this allows you to search your library for the specific Sliver you need, and with it having ''Slivercycling'' itself, it means you never really have to cast it as a creature spell, in other words, it's a 3 mana Sliver tutor.

Non-creature spells are important to help the deck function properly. The most important non-creature spell is Lead the Stampede, a sorcery spell that cost that helps keep our hand filled with creatures, it gives us the ability to be able to constantly be playing threats, which is extremely important; if our opponent is playing a control deck or a deck with a lot of removal, once they get the upper hand, its basically an auto lose unless we are able to maintain our threats, same goes for aggro, as most aggro decks are just faster than us, being able to maintain consistency is extremely important. Hive Stirrings is a sorcery spell that costs and creates 2 1/1 colourless Sliver tokens, this spell is good against match-ups that play a lot of edicts, such as Mono-Black Control. Mutagenic Growth is a instant spell for that gives target creature +2/+2, this helps protect our creatures from removal as well as increasing combat damage, what makes this spell so good, is the ability to cast it basically for free by paying 2 life. Vines of Vastwood is an instant for that makes any creature untargettable to spells your opponents control, this is good as protection, as well as protecting an opponents creatures from their enchantments in decks such as Rally-Gond or Boggles. Some spells for digging are Adventurous Impulse and Commune with Nature. Most other spells played in the mainboard are removal spells such as Journey to Nowhere and Epic Confrontation.

Land wise, there are quite a few non-basic lands to choose from. Blossoming Sands helps with colour fixing as well as gaining us a life. Selesnya Sanctuary also helps with colour fixing, as well as returning a land to your hand, which in many cases can be good. Secluded Steppe and Tranquil Thicket are cycle lands that allow us to draw a card if we already have enough lands, they also work well with the aforementioned Selesnya Sanctuary. Khalni Garden helps against edict effects by creating a 0/1 plant token, this land also works well with Selesnya Sanctuary. Ancient Den and Tree of Tales can also be played to play around Wrench Mind, but don't play too many, as they can be destroyed with much more ease as they are also artifacts. The rest of the land slots should be filled with basic lands, with more Plains than Forests as we play more white 1 mana creatures than green ones.

Slivers can be a very fun deck to play, although sometimes linear, the synergy between the cards is so fun to play with, and you can easily out-race many opponents.
