Maybeboard

This deck focuses on using Eight-and-a-Half-Tails abilities and traditional white stall spells to slow down the table to match your speed and control what they can do to your board. I have a lot of fun playing this deck with people who've never seen Eight-and-a-Half-Tails before and revel in their reactions when they realize I can fizzle their removal and attackers whenever I feel like it.

Eight-and-a-Half-Tails is a commander that requires a lot of defensive play in the early game and then flips to calculated voltron aggression in the mid to late game. It's greatest weakness is probably the lack of early game plays and ramp so you'll want to spend that time searching for ways to increase your mana reserves and using your commander's abilities to protect them.

After you've built up a board state where you can protect your control and ramp cards, you can begin to go on the attack. Start searching for swords and don't overextend yourself. Always keep in mind how much mana you'll need to activate reactive spells and abilities.

The MVPs of the deck are probably Sword of Feast and Famine, any of the "XYZ of Protection: White" enchantments, Story Circle, Pentarch Paladin, and Pariah. Each of these do some serious work when paired with Eight-and-a-Half-Tails and have never let me down.

--- Pre-Commander Legends Edit ---

Planning to replace several cards with new CommanderLegends cards. I will update the deck list if they pass the trial period.

Archon of Absolution with Armored Skyhunter to advance voltron plan.

Burnished Hart with Keeper of the Accord to ramp more consistently.

Replacing Single Combat with Slash the Ranks will allow me to hit planeswalkers and non-commander creatures my opponents may otherwise keep in Single Combat.

I'm on the fence with Triumphant Reckoning and Jeweled Lotus. While Lotus can potentially allow me to cast my commander on turn 1, it doesn't do much else for me. Reckoning could pull an amazing "Avengers: Endgame" moment but it costs twice as much as Faith's Reward and is probably WAY too expensive and risky to cast late game.
