I like this deck and have been looking for a good mono red deck to play fro a while. I would suggest Sunscorched Desert in the mana base. also something to consider is the synergy between Sunscorched Desert and Devour in Flames. I am not saying that devour is a good card here, but its just a thought. here is many mono red list I made a while ago, its not a terrible deck, but I also don't use it so I haven't updated it much at all. Red Burn/control

Could you splash U for Fevered Visions? So good against control.
Would let you play Refuse / Cooperate in burn. I'm personally excited to test it. Slightly relieves the 5 drop pressure to run GDD.
Bold moves +1

myronrocks, I don't think Fevered Visions is really possible to maindeck in standard right now, at least not week 1, but I could be wrong. I made a version of the deck splashing blue for Fevered Visions out of the sideboard, and it just seemed really bad honestly.
Refuse / Cooperate is a cool card. I'll consider it.
Thanks for your comment!

Np. Yeah I was thinking FV in side, definitely not main. It's a commitment just to run it out of sideboard tho. And if it didn't feel right to you, then it didn't feel right.
It's done serious work for me against both UR control and Jeskai control at FNM. But I'm playing 4c reanimator. Maybe that changes the effectiveness.

Some decks literally cannot beat a turn three Fevered Visions, but those decks aren't really prominent in standard right now. It's unfortunate because I really love the card.
Thanks again for the input and good luck to you as well!

I'd prefer Tormenting Voice over Cathartic Reunion, because you're not going to ever cast the Reunion if you're topdecking it. Holding back a a single land in case you draw a Tormenting Voice is much more possible.
What do you think about Abrade in the mainboard? Abrade makes it easier to remove Gearhulks in UR or most things in GB Counters before they get counters, also Heart of Kiran. You don't have that much payoff for discard, so I'd rather have that over Lightning Axe, except against Eldrazi.
I'm planning on running a very similar list and apart from those and playing Soul-Scar Mage main and Hungry Flames in the side, my rough list looks very similar. I just didn't have time to test yet, so I'll probably just play your list :)

I might also agree with you about Abrade. I think U/R Control might be the worst matchup for this deck and that would help a lot. I just had Lightning Axe because it seems like these decks always run 2 to go with Fiery Temper. It has been one of the weaker cards though.
If you want to see this deck in action check out my twitch stream(link in the description). I plan on playing it tonight. Thanks again for your comment!

I'm really interested in your list, Seeing as I'm basically running a budget version myself. So I have a few questions: What do you think about using Desert of the Fervent over Sunscorched Desert as an additional source of card draw? Why Mirrorpool? And lastly, Do you think Chandra, Torch of Defiance is necessary for this deck to be competitive, or can it work without throwing an extra $75 at a mono-red deck? That said, I love the concept. Burn all the way home, and may you have good luck at the SCG. Solid +1 from me.
(PS, In a shameless cry for help, I'm linking my deck here: I Know Y'all Hate Me. Burn buddies are the best buddies. Thanks!)

333hellopeeps333, thanks so much for your comment! I will attempt to answer all of your questions.
Mirrorpool is there as a kind of late game mana sink. Copying a Glorybringer and exerting and killing is pretty broken. It will also trigger Bedlam Reveler's ETB effect and it gives a lot more reach to a top deck burn spell in the late game. Since we're mono-red and this is our only tall and it isn't a big deal to include 2.
I think Chandra, Torch of Defiance is great, maybe even the best card in the deck, but she can kind of slow it down. The deck can definitely be competitive without her, just maybe not at very high levels of play.
I like your version of the deck a lot. I would say go ahead and throw in the Sunscorched Deserts, and also go to 4 Collective Defiance. It's probably the best burn spell in the deck. Also if you have Glorybringer, it sure is a helluva Magic card!
Best of luck! Thanks again for your comment!

Hey, I have a deck similar to this I am looking for help with, Baral, the Insulting Thermo Archer, you should check it out!

Tedaboy Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm going to keep editing it, and see how competitive it can be for $30ish. Good luck!

Ran this almost this exact list (MB was identical, SB was tweaked to the meta) and I have some thoughts. I always sided out Bedlam Reveler. He was good when I played him for full value, but I usually had the game wrapped up at that point. I also sided out the archers against anything playing Walking Ballista. This allowed me to put K-Return in my SB, and ran 3 total. Against the aggro decks, K-Return was a house. I T3 K-Returned into T4 Chandra on an empty board more than once. Chandra is the real deal in this deck and I would consider adding 1 more to the SB.
I foolishly did not run any Lightning Axe, and my 1 match loss was to an Abzan Delirium deck that Traversed into Sigarda. I had no way to deal with her and my opponent quickly closed me out. I will likely put Lightning Axe in the SB, but it lead me to another realization...Hour of Devastation deserves at least SB consideration. It hits literally everything, AND you can shock down anything in excess of 5 toughness if you hold the cards correctly.
With that in mind, one card that I ran in my SB was Burn From Within. It's a fireball that deals with the indestructible god cards and also won me a few games last night. Highly recommend, but also meta dependent.
Anyway, thanks for the list!

Well I intended for this deck to go a little bit bigger and prey on other creature decks. Also as it is this deck can do virtually all its damage without attacking, making it very strong against W/U Monument. I made a bad call though as I did face control 4 times at the open and lost 3 of those times. So maybe Soul-Scar would be better against control but I doubt it.
If you want to play a much better deck against control I would play this...
