No Chain Lightning ? Chandra Nalaar instead of Chandra, the Firebrand ? Or even Koth of the Hammer ?=/

Chain Lightning is a good idea. Would Koth of the Hammer be the better choice for this deck? What should I remove to include Chain Lightning ?

Burn decks tend to be about the same every time, since there's only so many good direct damage spells, and you want to deal lots of damage very quickly, so three mana is iffy, four mana is usually right out, five mana is not a good idea.

Cheaper planeswalkers are better, one mana is a huge difference. Get rid of your 5 drops, if you can put them down, you've probably lost.

Another good card would be Goblin Guide for fast damage, Price of Progress wrecks most legacy decks, Furnace Scamp is iffy, you have to deal damage to the players.

Rift Bolt is a lightning bolt that you have to wait a turn, so basically one of the best turn one plays possible.

Shrine is very slow, I would not recommend it.

Fireblast is effectively a free 4 damage.

Flame Rift is good, yes you take damage, but they'll be at lower health since you're burn.

If you want lategame, go for Figure of Destiny .

Hellspark Elemental is effectively a reusable Incinerate.

Barbarian Ring is nice since it's just damage after a few spells.

Figure out what in your deck is the slowest (hint, if it costs more than 2 mana, look carefully at it), and get rid of it. Google legacy burn decks, look at them, and see what you like in them.

Thanks I really appreciate the help. I have taken all of this into consideration. If I don't have it changed tonight, I will have it done by tomorrow. A lot of great cards. I will post an update when I have made the changes.

No problem. Just take something into consideration, Vexing Devil may seem like 4 damage at worst, but actually, at worst it's gain 4 life (Swords to Plowshares ), which is much worse for you. Just something to think about in sideboarding.

I now want to run it all one mana cost burns. Do you have any suggestions on the best one cost mana burns that I have placed in the maybeboard? I am thinking about removing Balefire Liege , Chandra Nalaar , Shrine of Burning Rage , and 2 Mountain

Having all one mana burn is eh, sure you get to cast a lot quickly, but you want to make sure that you can kill them within 3 or 4 turns. Let's say you're playing against Stoneblade. They get out a batterskull and swing. There goes 4 of your life per turn, and you really don't want to be dealing damage to their creatures instead of them. If you go 1 mana burn, you have to now worry about the fact that a lot of your spells will only deal 2 damage instead of 3, and what you gain in tempo, you lose in card advantage.

Good point. That being said, which are the least useful 1 mana costs that I am currently running and what do you think I should replace them with? I will add Lightning Bolt at a later date. If I run a planeswalker, it will be Koth of the Hammer

Firebolt, Needle Bolt, Pillar of Flame, Forked Bolt, Shock are all too weak, find things that deal 3 or 4 damage. Furnace Scamp is not very good, it relies on them not having a one drop to do anything.

So is Goblin Guide > Furnace Scamp ? You mentioned earlier that 3 drops are a bit high, so I should find 2 mana drops to replace the cards you mentioned?

Thanks for the help.

Goblin Guide is definitely better. It has twice the power, is reusable, and starts attacking faster. Thunderous Wrath is a big gamble, but it's a possibility.

Alright I will swap those creatures. 2 of Thunderous Wrath would seem like a good idea to keep my chances low that I draw it in my starting hand.
