MONO-BLUE DEVOTION IS BACK!!!

I'd like to thank everyone who supported the deck through upvotes and comments. I never thought the deck would be that popular, reaching 100 upvotes in a week was crazy; now we're at 230+!!
Alright so now that DTK is out I invite all of you to share your experiences with the deck in the comment section :).

For those who are looking at the deck for the first time, here's the description :

THE AGGRO STRATEGY

Cheap and evasive is the main focus!

  • Hypnotic Siren : cheap and evasive with strong endgame potential.

  • Gudul Lurker : cheap and unblockable, with morph that can be used to fake a Stratus Dancer or simply for more damage output late game.

  • Frost Walker : Cheap, heavy power elemental that punishes slow starts.

  • Stratus Dancer : Cheap, evasive and with a very strong unmorph effect.

  • Hall of Triumph : can be the difference between a race you win and a race you don't. While being good for all creatures in the deck, another purpose is making the 1/0 elemental creatures not die when Master of Waves gets killed!

  • THE DEVOTION STRATEGY

  • Thassa, God of the Sea : The god we're devoting to! Scry every turn, swing for 5 indestructible on turn 4, close games with unblockales? Sign me in!

  • Master of Waves : The card that demands an answer immediately. Flood the board, buff your elementals!

  • Shorecrasher Elemental : Makes turn 4 Thassa or Master incredibly good, he's also a pain in the ass to kill and his +1/-1 or -1/+1 fills combat with trickery!

  • Icefall Regent : gives the deck much needed late game power and a good tempo play.

  • Bident of Thassa : with 12 evasive creatures in the deck + all the tokens Master of Waves can do, a bident can run away with the game in a couple turns!

  • THE REMOVAL

Blue does not have many ways of completely removing a creature once it's resolved...

  • Reality Shift is the only way to ''remove'' a creature so use it wisely.

  • Singing Bell Strike : Adds devotion and neutralizes a threat for the necessary amount of time.

  • THE SIDEBOARD

The sideboard is mainly built to be able to switch from a ''full aggro'' to a more ''aggro/permission'' style deck. Protecting creatures from wraths is priority #1.

  • Disdainful Stroke and Negate: help counter removal and high end threats.

  • Encase in Ice comes in in replacement for Singing Bell Strike if the opponent runs green or red creatures.

  • Wall of Frost completely shuts down mono-red aggro and is awesome against any deck that is faster than us!

  • Profaner of the Dead also comes in against aggro to slow them down considerably.

  • Cloudform comes in to battle control.

  • Thank you for your reading! If you liked the deck please +1 upvote and comment :).

Lost in the first elimination round of the top 8 but due to a misplay. For any skeptics about MUD in standard, there you have it, could've made it to semi-finals with the deck!
Anyways here's the Game Day story..

    Total Players : 13
Decks played : Abzan control, abzan aggro, U/R dragons, R/B aggro, Mono-red aggro, Mardu Midrange, Green devotion, G/W devotion, G/W devotion, Abzan outlast (lol), 4-color control, U/B control, and myself.

    Match 1 : 2-0 against U/R Dragons
Game one Frost Walker punished his slow start heavily, Singing Bell Strike took care of his desperate tappout threat and Hall of Triumph finished things off. Game two Master of Waves was left unanswered since all his removal was red, I took the game pretty quickly.

    Match 2 : 2-0 against Abzan control
Game one I had the crazy curve my deck is all about. Thassa hit too hard and Master of Waves was the end of it. Game two I managed to have a board and used Negate on his Drown in Sorrow. I played Hall of Triumph pumped Shorecrasher Elemental once for 10 damage which was lethal

    Match 3 : 0-2 against Mono-Red aggro
Game one I got stuck on two mana... Still managed to put up a fight but it was not enough. Game 2 was close but he managed to burn me out.

Match 4 : Intentional draw against R/B aggro
We were both sealed for top 8 if we drew, so we did. We played for fun and I won the best of 3 :P

Match 1 of the top 8 : 1-2 against Green devotion splash red
Game one I had the crazy curve. Game 2 lasted 40 freaking minutes! I can say with certitude that this was the most complicated board state I have ever faced (around 10 permanents on each side of the board). He had lethal in the air with Stormbreath Dragon and Ashcloud Phoenix, I had been holding 2 Encase in Ice which I used on both of them in response to Stormbreath monstrosity. I took 1 damage (one card in hand) and fell to 9 life. After heavy calculations I used my two spare mana to activate a forced attack with Bident of Thassa. Blocking took a good 3 minutes of thinking and I made a mistake... I blocked an Elvish Mystic with an elemental token, which was unecessary since without blocking the Mystic I was falling to one life. Because of this I was short 1 point on the backswing, swinging with 16 instead of 18 (he was at 17)........ You have no idea how much this is affecting my mood right now!
Game 3 : got wrecked by a turn 3 Polukranos, World Eater into Setessan Tactics.

Conclusion... MONO-BLUE DEVOTION IS ALIVE AND STRONG!!! I never would have thought the deck would be so good, it could certainly be a tier 2 deck but I think pros are too pussied out from playing the deck competitively. I strongly think that people just tell themselves ''it's weaker than Ravnica blue devotion, there ain't a good 1 or 2 drop and blablabla'', and that is the main reason they don't play the deck. YES, the deck is weaker than past blue devotion, but it's NOT a valid reason to not play the deck. The deck is strong, and from now on I'll be confident every time I bring it to an FNM.

How did you guys do on game day? :)

    Peace!
