A very basic infect deck. Infect is one of my favorite Modern decks, primarily because it's so quick and powerful while also costing less than a lot of other modern decks.

Glistener Elf , Ichorclaw Myr , and Blight Mamba are the only creatures you need with this deck. Pump them up with Giant Growth , Groundswell , Unnatural Predation , Larger Than Life , Phytoburst , and Mutagenic Growth and you can easily get your opponent up to 10 poison counters. Apostle's Blessing can save them from removal or slip it through their defenses.

If you are looking for a Casual deck, I would replace Unnatural Predation with Invigorate which is banned in Modern. Gitaxian Probe can also be useful to see if they have removal before playing all of your buff spells.

If you are willing to spend a little bit more:

• Replace Unnatural Predation with Rancor . Rancor gives your creature an extra attack power, as well as the trample. Plus, it's an aura, so it will stay on instead of going away.

• Replace Phytoburst with Might of Old Krosa . It costs 1 less mana and only gives 1 P/T less than Phytoburst , so Might of Old Krosa is a lot better, but it just costs a bit more(in dollars).

• Replace Giant Growth with Scale Up . Giant Growth is still a powerful card, but Scale Up helps with the attack power of your creature more.

If you are looking to splash in more colors:

• White: You would do this if you wanted more protection or more removal. On the protection side,low cost instants like Gods Willing , Emerge Unscathed , Sheltering Light could be useful. On the removal side, Oust or Last Breath would be good.

• Blue: Blue adds evasion and disruption. it would mainly be for Blighted Agent . Distortion Strike makes your things unblockable and Spell Pierce can counter cheap removal.

• Black: This would be for removal or hand control. A lot of the good 1 mana hand control spells are quite expensive, but I would recommend Despise and Duress . Distress could also work, but I feel like it's a little too expensive(2 mana instead of 1) so it would be slower than the deck. For some early removal, Fatal Push and Dismember are both towards the expensive side, but definitely worth it. Also, Plague Stinger is a powerful flier that can quickly get through to your opponent.

• Red: Red adds more power and speed to the deck. Assault Strobe allows you to deal double the damage, Flesh//Blood deals the damage automatically, and Lightning Bolt can kill a blocker. Potentially, Simian Spirit Guide could bring more mana for all of your red spells.

Infect is definitely a powerful strategy, and a great deck can be made for a lot less than some of the other types of competitive in Modern. If you want to get into Modern for a low cost, or just dominate your friends, this is the deck for you.
