Update 18 December 2017

New tech. People are actually playing these colors now. It seems like the correct strategy is Aggro-Midrange, which is a really exciting archetype with no real representation.

I think we are missing maybe one or two more cards, similar to Reveler and Souls, that can "pivot" between being aggressive, and also providing card advantage later on.

Updates Add

The current iteration of the deck after a local SCG IQ.

Preparing for a broader metagame of fast creature decks I upped the spot removal to four Path to Exile and two Terminate main, plus Lightning Bolt, K-Command, and Collective Brutality.

I had the realization that Monastery Mentor is actually more similar to a four or six drop in spite of his 3 cmc, and that running all four of them was basically pushing my curve too high. Dropping to two Mentors allowed me to run two K-Command and two Brutality which are very flexible.

Butcher over performs against Burn and other Lightning Bolt decks. Purphoros is excellent in grindy midrange and control match ups. Since those match ups go longer (read: you see more cards) I decided to put Purphoros at one copy main, with an extra in the side for matchups where it's better.

I'm really pleased with this iteration of the deck.
