The Mimeoplasm Combo

Commander / EDH*

tophertbone12

This deck is equiped with a ton of tutors, and ways to fill your graveyard, or as this deck likes to think of it, your second hand. There are many different routes to take this deck.

1) Aggro/Midrange. This strategy relies heavily on self mill. Using primarily either Traumatize, Mesmeric Orb fill your graveyard as quickly as possible with as many creatures as possible. Then use Living Death to quickly bring them all back. A good living death will typically result in a win either that turn through enough haste creatures, or the next turn just by sheer overpowering numbers.

2) Infect. This strategy it the one that utilizes the general, The Mimeoplasm. There are two infect creatures in the deck, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, and Putrefax. Both of these creatures either have haste, or can get it quickly, the best way to win is cast The Mimeoplasm as one of the infect creatures, and give it at least 6 more +1/+1 counters for leathal. This works best in a 1v1 strategy as often your opponents will do everything in their power to kill a 10/10 or bigger infect creature before it hits them.

3) Combo. The main combo of this deck is to have Necrotic Ooze on the battlefield, either reanimated, or a copy, or whatever, and Triskelion and Phyrexian Devourer in the graveyard. Necrotic Ooze has both of their activated abilites, first exile the top card of your library, you will get +1/+1 counters (that is what the Oracle text says) on Necrotic Ooze equal to that cards CMC, then you can remove those counters to shoot your opponents. The total CMC of the deck is 245, so there is usually enough cards left in the deck to pull off the combo and win against three players, (assuming everyone is roughly at 40 life)

By far the most important card of the deck is Buried Alive, it can either put all three combo creatures in your graveyard, put an infect creature and a big beater, or just utility creatures like Massacre Wurm or Bane of Progress. There are many ways to find it through tutors, including casting Bring to Light witha convergance cost of 3. Once Buried Alive has resolved, there are limitless ways you can choose to play out the rest of the game.

Overall this is a very versitile deck, it has the capabilites to be absolutely crushing and win quickly to keep up with more competitive decks, or just sit and have a slower more interactive game. Utilizing the graveyard allows for a real tool box functionality where you can easily tutor for an answer you need, or bring back one that was already used. Graveyard synergies also allow for the deck to become extremely resilient, often quickly able to bounce back after a board wipe, or playing straight through a ton of counterspells. All in all it a fun deck to play and has potential for awesome shenanigans.
