Lesson's learned —Nov. 10, 2019

So after playing some league games with the deck I've noticed some glaring weaknesses. I've decided to up the protection spells in the side to make it easier to keep creature on the field. A lot of people are running B/G builds for removal make push, decay, and trophy real problems. you can see the changes in the side and among along with some changes like a small increase in lands and replacing lagonna-band trailblazer and gods willing.

Lagonna was good but his 0 power cost made him hard to take advantage of and get an early win. Instead I went with the 2 mana heroic creature that allows a scry making the buffing more profitable.

Ajani's presence has the strive ability not only making it better than gods willing in that I can target multiple creatures with 4 mana but also gives me the opportunity to make the buff valuable with the +1/+1.

If your plan is to go as fast as possible, then wouldn't Built to Smash make for a better addition to the deck than Integrity / Intervention ?

Also can't help but feel like Inspiring Vantage would make for a better choice over Clifftop Retreat .

Thank you I had completely forgot about inspiring vantage. Also I chose integrity of smash because it can serve as a burn spell if the situation arises.

Glad I could help bring a useful land to your attention, and regarding the pump spell I just figured with 6 instant speed double strike cards the 2 extra damage it could provide might be more in line with the plan lol. That said, having a backup plan for if the game goes long isn't a terrible idea either. Just wanted to share my thoughts... This is a terrifyingly fast deck and I don't think I'd want to see it across the table, well done.

I appreciate it I actually may still consider it to be honest. Though I need to test this one a bit to see how it goes. Glad you like the deck. I'm going to a do more thorough go over sine this based off a deck i made during khans of tarkir standard.

Have you considered Lagonna-Band Trailblazer ? You'd lose a point of power over Satyr Hoplite , but it wouldn't die to most red removal anymore, and the deck could grow it pretty good. Just a thing to consider. The other thing is maybe low numbers of Feather, the Redeemed ? He's good in standard sometimes, and also very good in edh. Looping your buffs could be really sick, even if 3 mana is a lot in a deck like this. Sometimes a little card advantage in aggro goes a long way. Maybe I'm wrong though, I like the focus on one-drops, low to the ground, very efficient.

Feather is very interesting andnworth a consider. He is high costed for the deck curve but maybe in an alternative build he could do great. I had considered lagonna but that one extra point of damage meant more when doing double strike since the heroic creature is what I went for. I think I'd replace zurgo with lagonna though when thinking about it. Thanks for the suggestion!

That is a lot of good suggestions. Consuming fervor is interesting but I only fear if the game goes past a few turns it really starts to hurt. Glaring aegis is cool and possibly worth while. Might try it if I find that the burn matchup is too bad. Etheral armor is definitely worth it if I head more towards the enchantment route, which is a distinct possibility. Gryff's boon is one I'm very interested in trying for the evasion and recursion. The trials are cool but I think to slow for the deck. Sram is also cool but doesn't fit with the heavy aggro of the deck. Maybe if I go more enchantment oriented he will be worth a hard look.

I saw Feather, the Redeemed mentioned earlier, but I think personally I would suggest going for Tenth District Legionnaire first as a "curve topper". More reasonable cost for the deck and has heroic, but it could still function well for ensuring "fuel" for the next turn. Might lower damage output slightly over the current creature base, but the consistency provided could make for a decent payoff.

That is a really solid suggestion. This may turn into a R/W enchantments deck.

Have you thought about Zada, Hedron Grinder? Yes a 4 drop but it might help if you stall out.

I don't think Zada quite fits unfortunately.

I dig this deck! I was attempting a monowhite heroic/aura brew but I think splashing in red is the way to go. One or two copies of Gryff’s Boon may help to add some early evasion and power to your board too

The Enchantments engine is really solid, IMO. I've tried something similar to this in modern, mono-white heroic enchantments, and it's fast and aggressive. Losing Kor Spiritdancer sucks but Sram is a good substitute, and you've already got the one mana Cartouches. Still triggers prowess too!
