- 2x Badlands
- 2x Bayou
- 3x Bloodstained Mire
- 1x Forest
- 4x Grove of the Burnwillows
- 1x Swamp
- 4x Verdant Catacombs
- 4x Wasteland
- 2x Wooded Foothills
Chains of Mephistopheles comes down a turn sooner, is easier to cast in a deck full of Wasteland and Grove of the Burnwillows , and disrupts cantripping much more than the 1 life from underworld dreams.

I was thinking of running chains in my legacy deck for the sane reason. I'd love yo hear how it worked so I can try it myself.

Just got the actual paper list together, and tonight is playtest night. But the theory is that with Delver being an extremely popular strategy, I could forgo a some flex slots, i.e. extra Hymn to Tourach or Sylvan Library to play a more powerful disruption spell. Usually, Jund decks will have a Chains in the Side, but I get the feeling Delver will be rampant, since it won the Legacy open in ATL like 2-3 weeks ago, and is "cheaper" yet still powerful. I'll definitely update you tonight after we playtest.
Incidentally, Chains is just good against Brainstorm , and other decks that cantrip. Storm, Deathblade, Delver, Miracles, Elves....

That was my line of thought, I don't own the 2 chains so I was hoping to hear it was solid v delver lists(outside of theory) before I spent ~600 bucks on them.

On turn 2 it has worked well, Going turn 1 Deathrite into T2 Chains with Daze Mana is nice. Beyond that the gameplan turns into kill their things, then if the game has gone long, Chains helps keep them down.

Awesome to hear! I'll look into getting a pair when I get my tax return this year. I'm glad they've worked.

Just a note, Italian ones are cheaper cause apparently Legends was printed more in Italian or something
October 31, 2014 9:29 a.m.
Funny story, I own a nether void and abyss in italian, and was pleasantly surprised that they were cheaper.

Lol Nether Void might not be a bad SB consideration given all the "free" spells going around in Blue. And I'd like to note the hilariousness of us considering these cards "cheaper".

I play a stax EDH deck that's become my pet deck. Some time in the future it's getting a grim tutor. But back on topic I'm glad chains work well.

What's really hilarious is I'm prettysure I played one of your buddies a week or two ago because he told me about this deck name. I lold.
October 31, 2014 11:12 a.m.
OMG, fluffybunnypants did you play in a legacy GPT in Jax?
October 31, 2014 12:41 p.m.
No, sir. I think it may have been at SCG Worcester.... maaaybe? I'll figure it out.
October 31, 2014 12:57 p.m.
My "team" that we came up with the name are all here in North FLA with me, and none of us went to SCG Worcester! If someone thought of the same thing then hot damn that's 2funny.
October 31, 2014 2:20 p.m.
Well Brian Demars just told everyone who reads SCG articles my plans for the GP :C
November 4, 2014 11:22 a.m.
To be fair he wasn't encouraging it, more showing disgust that non delver decks are going to such an extreme to fight the card advantage cruise offers.
November 4, 2014 11:38 a.m.
Fair enough, I figured with roughly 70% of the meta playing Brainstorm anyway, it's not completely dead in non delver match ups. It also turns Cantrips into worse loots.
I'm also curious what everyone thinks of 1-2x Dualcaster Mage in the SB?
