Pushing Jodah to be as tough as possible.

This is a brew trying to make a fun but also tough Jodah, This deck contains a good few ways to win style in a big mana way!

The structure of this deck is to build upon and expand Jodah's ability to create value by cheating mana costs, This deck takes the value created by Jodah has and works towards both not needing Jodah in the end game by creating substantially more value than our opponents.

Below there are 3 lines to casting the infinite Turns 2, 3, 4.. With added benefits of cards like Tooth and Nail, Omniscience being our back up plans that can be cast at the rate that Enter the Infinite.

This deck actually has 2 other siblings, Both are based on what we're trying to do here but have different power levels.

Takes what we are trying to do here, swaps the bottom 15 to 20% of the deck around and really starts firing...this is the cEDH version of this deck.

and

I like'd how this deck was playing against non cEDH decks, however I made and upgraded the deck to be tougher. If you prefer a more interactive less win big then maybe have a look at the linked deck.

  • Ramp is all T2 and below - We need to be casting Jodah Turn 3, Ramping turn 3 is not worth it. Only if your game is going to last 15+ turns.

  • Currently in the utility section we have Shapers of Nature This is great mana sink as it will send our creatures huge and let us draw/play the entire deck. This will win us the game if we can get one of infinite mana engines online

  • Helping get to our engine is Tooth and Nail we can entwine for 7cmc and get 2 things out onto the battlefield. if we have a mana doubler in play and we can get Palinchron we can go infinite and using Shapers of Nature as our 2nd choice from tooth win the game.

  • it takes a little longer but Conflux provides the same game winning pieces..this can get all the pieces we need into our hand we just need to play them.

We have a series of cards that all create extra value with or without Jodah, The Idea being we will create so much value either with Jodah or our back up cards that we will out value our opponents.

These are just a few examples of how we create more value than our opponents.

Currently 2 different Infinite mana combo's in the deck.
  • Composite Golem + Nim Deathmantle and old classic combo but both synergise with other aspects of the deck.

  • Our 2nd Infinte Mana combo is Palinchron + one of the 4 mana doublers we have. Casting Palinchron for WUBRG, and bouncing for 4cmc means we need 5 lands + 1 Doubler to be on an infinite colored mana loop. if we Zendikar Resurgent as our doubler than we already have a way to draw the entire deck and win.

  • A path to this combo can be Tooth and Nail find Palinchron and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger this is infinite mana with these two.

I've seen a lot of decks use the following cards, for different reasons these were cut. A lot of things come down to speed and if it's the card is a win more addition

-Brilliant Ultimatum - 50/50 on this, Can be awesome can be a dud...to much variance and things had to be cut

-Cavern of Souls - The colourless mana is a super disadvantage to our WUBRG plans.

-Cruel Ultimatum - fun, but the only part that matters is the card advantage and this is only worth it if cast for WUBRG but if we're casting something with Jodah this is a wasted cast.

-Rishkar's Expertise - We don't have enough impactful 5cmc or less cards to run this.

-Maelstrom Nexus Looks really good at first but with testing seemed to be a win more card. We need to spend a full turn to get this early and if we cast a low cmc spell it does very little except exile our deck and if we're casting one of the high cmc cards we're already on our way to winning and getting a random summon doesn't add to our plan reliably.

-Plague Wind - Hard casting is not good and if we're spending a full turn to cast why not cast something else. we have other wipes in but they have some added benefit like draw or hitting more targets

-T3 and T4 ramp like Cultivate, Kodama's Reach or Skyshroud Claim. These are good but too slow. Jodah is much slower than most (based off the majority of decks floating around) people seem to think. We can't afford to be losing tempo anywhere.

-Myojin of Life's Web - 9 is a lot but can lead to cheating in many creatures. Issue is we don't have enough big creatures to make it worth it. If we switch the deck around to have more big creatures then a solid addition.

-Ramos, Dragon Engine - was in initially but we don't have enough multi colored spells to make this worth while

-Sunbird's Invocation - I like this alot at only 6cmc but it causes us to spend an entire turn to get it set up.. After which when we cast a big spell we get a free cast, but we're probably better off casting a big spell a turn sooner. Tough one but not worth it in a fast..ish game.

-T1 - Land + Ramp; Birds of Paradise is best, Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond are good as well

-T2 - Land + one of our colored ramp spells Bloom Tender probably best

-T3 - Land + Jodah - 2 to 3 open mana for defence, Can ramp if not used on defence, or Demonic Tutor, Imperial Seal, Mystical Tutor, or Vampiric Tutor will all get us Enter the Infinite if it's not in our hand.

-T4 - Land + Enter the Infinite - with 3+ open mana for defence. We can potentially Tutor using Demonic Tutor and still cast Inf, NOt ideal but possible.

Once we have our deck we have the following cards to get to 6 mana,

-Mox Diamond

-Sol Ring

-Chrome Mox

-Mana Vault

-Mana Crypt

This gives us a 6 mana starting with 0 open mana when we cast Enter the Infinite

We then cast Composite Golem, Sac and cast Omniscience then we have our deck.

Go infinite, use Shapers of Nature for huge creatures, Insurrection to enable haste..and seal the win.

Our magical Turn 1 win

This is a little on the risky side, If we get enter the infinite gets countered then we put ourselves into a very losing position by advancing our 3 opponents by an extreme amount. I keep changing my mind on whether or not include this.

Turn 2 Magical land win

-T1 - Land + Mana Crypt + Nim death mantle - 1 Open mana for defence

-T2 - Land + Mana Vault tap out into Composite Golem sac and we have infinite mana, Cast Enter the Infinite and the same win as our main turn 4 line. - Need Pact of Negation or Force of Will here for defence

There's a different turn 3 line that involves Fist of Suns**

-T1 - Land + Mox Diamond + Birds of Paradise

-T2 - Land + Chrome Mox + Fist of Suns = 2 open mana,

-T3 - Land + Enter the Infinite or Tooth and Nail - We have a 6 Mana on turn 3 and a WUBRG cast with fist so how to win is based on what we are holding. - 1 open mana for defence

  • Should we expand the etb's effects?, we already have mana doublers means were close to other infinite mana combos with things like Peregrine Drake, I think Cloudstone Curio could potentially find a home but not sure.

  • on the same line are there other etb's that would work, I'm looking for something that can put enter the infinite into play or something that gets Palinchron out.

  • We could add some extra blue protection or Cyclonic Rift is always a good addition. Although we're getting very tight on things to cut. Bringer of the Black Dawn seems like the next to go.

  • Walking Ballista a 2nd mana sink or a replacement to shapers to nature harder to counter but without draw this is a personal preference.

  • Show and Tell I'm 50/50 on this and with testing it'll probably make its way in. Although risky letting the 3 best cards in our opponents hands go out for free but the upside is amazing. Currently it has been swapped in for Survival of the Fittest we only have 16 creatures and don't need any with speed or desperation.

  • T1 - Island + Mana Crypt, cast Show and Tell play Omniscience then cast Enter the Infinite and win the same way that we do on the turn 4 line.
