Enjoy spending the early game developing a solid board with speed and consistency, followed by interacting with opponents mid-late game? Accumulate autarkic capital with Omnath, Locus of Physiocracy!

This version loses some endgame in exchange for more ramp, card draw, protection, and several catch-all answers. There are 3 phases to evaluate your current boardstate.

  1. Allow the laws of nature to govern: Ramp, then play protection with your commander.
  2. Acquire the means of production: Create burn and draw engines.
  3. Exploit the proletariat: Control the board via burn/Develop card advantage and tempo.

Understanding the role cards have help determine when they should be played and whether or not they're worth the deck slot. For example, Kamahl, Fist of Krosa is most useful when you've reached phase 3. Unless you're ready to combo with Blasphemous Act on the same turn, it's usually best to play something like Warstorm Surge first.


Included Burning Wish to grab either a win-more sorcery or a situational answer. Decree of Annihilation's Cycling ability is a nearly uncounterable cantrip; I would never exile my own graveyard, hand, and boardstate unless I have several enchantments in play.

If a group allows "Un" cards, I may include Double Play, Gerrymandering, and Ineffable Blessing.
