My homebrewed EDH deck built around Sigarda, Host of Herons. I mostly built this deck out of compulsion, given that I already have decks using Bruna, Light of Alabaster and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight. This has been the hardest one for me to figure out a good direction for. Originally, the deck had a +1/+1 counters subtheme, but I found that to be too clunky overall and it really wasn't doing very well, so I reworked it pretty significantly.

At this point, it's sort of a mild take on a Voltron build, with the primary win condition being trying to swing through for lethal with Sigarda, using equipment like Godsend and Sword of Vengeance, auras like Holy Mantle and Spirit Mantle, and Exalted triggers a la Sublime Archangel, Qasali Pridemage, and even Cathedral of War to pump her up. That said, it really is Voltron-lite, and the deck is much more about value & disruption than going full-in on making Sigarda massive.

The second half of the deck was designed to shut down many of my playgroup's most oppressive control or combo decks. With that end in mind, I decided to include plenty of protection a la Asceticism, Privileged Position, Platinum Angel, as well as some damage lock a la Cho-Manno, Revolutionary & Pariah. There is spot removal with Swords to Plowshares, Sylvan Reclamation, Return to Dust, and Devouring Light, plus a few creatures like Qasali Pridemage and Reclamation Sage. Angel of Finality, Containment Priest, Angel of Jubilation, and Angelic Arbiter are all there to shut down various other types of shenanigans and keep some particularly frustrating decks in check.

This deck is still very much a work in progress, hence the large Maybeboard. But overall I've been liking the direction it's been heading, and it's finally started feeling like it can hold its own in games, so that's pretty encouraging. It's also slowly becoming more fun to play (for me at least), and that's what it's all about!
