Whenever our commander, Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign, attacks we can cast the top card of our library for free!... if the revealed card has an odd CMC, that is. Fix the top of your library with odd cards to get maximum value, then roll your opponents with heavy hitters.

This is a versatile deck that can easily be re-tooled to suit your playstyle or local meta. When you take command of Yennett the odds are always in your favor.

FREE CASTS

The main gimmick of the deck—there's just no value like FREE. Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign lets us cast from the top of our deck without paying the mana cost. Copy the attack trigger with Strionic Resonator and get two casts for the price of none!

Additionally, Ethersworn Sphinx nets us cascade triggers, and Liliana Vess let us cast from the graveyard.

TOP-DECK MANIPULATION

A key mechanic in this deck, Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire, Ponder, Enlightened Tutor, Soothsaying, Lim-Dul's Vault, Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, Halimar Depths, Aminatou, the Fateshifter, and Jace, the Mind Sculptor are all here to fix the top cards of our library to set up optimal Yennett triggers.

Meanwhile Cavalier of Gales, Prognostic Sphinx, Doom Whisperer, Temple of Deceit, Temple of Enlightenment, and Temple of Silence let us scry to keep value on top.

KEEP YOUR COMMANDER SAFE

Five mana for our commander is a tad steep, and since Yennett activates by attacking, we're always at risk of losing our leader. Equip Lightning Greaves, Neurok Stealthsuit, or Swiftfoot Boots to give Yennett shroud and much needed haste.

Use Command Beacon, Geode Golem or Mimic Vat to easily recast Yennett if anything goes wrong. Akroma's Memorial, Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts, Blazing Archon, and Sephara, Sky's Blade provide general board defense, while Extinction Event, Angel of Despair, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, and In Garruk's Wake can keep the board clear of mounting threats.

STEAL YOUR OPPONENT'S VALUE

Cast Lord of the Void, Sepulchral Primordial, or Rise of the Dark Realms with Yennett and start slinging your enemies' spells back at them.

Use Aminatou, the Fateshifter, or Eerie Interlude to flicker permanents for repeat ETBs to bounce to the top of library for a recast.
