Thanks for all of the support on this deck everyone. I've been away from my LGS for a little while now. Life is extremely busy. I know this deck is still competitive in the right hands. It's good to know that Jund isn't going away any time soon. Keep on Junding 'Em Out and enjoy playing this deck for a long long time.

I'm surprised how well this deck Mono Red Hollow One (Avg. CMC .517) playtested against an all powerful jund deck. I would have built a variant of jund if Liliana of the Veil wasn't so expensive. Great deck btw!! +1

Yeah hollow one is a pretty rough match-up right now. Thats part of the reason Terminate and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet have rejoined the 75.

Also I added Rakdos Charm in the SB over Fatal Push

So youve cut Lingering Souls? Was it not as good as you hoped it to be in mirror/grindy matchups?

What did you put back in its place?

Hunson_Abadeer Lingering Souls was really bad against Hollow One decks. All it did was stall the game, it didnt actually answer the threat. I considered Goblin Rabblemaster but decided that a 3rd Scavenging Ooze was better positioned to handle the graveyard ahenanigans that deck employs. I also revamped the sideboard to give me better hate cards such as Rakdos Charm. I also added Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip. I think it will be interesting to see what she does for the deck. The thought of having 3 liliana walkers in play at once is bonkers.

I play a similar deck. What are your thoughts on Damping Sphere? I currently have 4 Fulminator Mage and 1 Pithing Needle and I want to change that to a 3/2 split between fulminator and sphere. Sphere isn't a silver bullet but it hits a lot of different decks.

saw your update. jund has always (for me at least) been awesome because you can have a sideboard filled with multipurpose one-ofs that hit lots of decks. lately though ive been feeling that the meta is just so freaking wide right now, and that i should just go all in on the decks that wreck me routinely regardless of what i brought in. decks like valakut, affinity, tron, etc. it sucks that even affinity is dangerous now because our removal is so low. anyways, now my sideboard is very focused on just hitting those decks. ive only taken it to one modern night so far, but it felt much more focused and stronger. i think its something im gonna keep doing for a while.

scrotality I know what you mean. It seems like Jund was at the top for a week or two and then everyone and their grandmother built anti-Jund decks. Just need to ride it out and let the meta reset until Jund can re-stabilize and find a SB plan to answer the meta.

Along those lines, Junk (Abzan) may be the meta choice for the moment. For affinity, you get Stony Silence and Lingering Souls. You get Blessed Alliance for Bogles.

Spazik008 I havent made up my mind on Damping Sphere yet. It seems like it could be viable and it is more difficult for tron to get rid of. Id have to test it out to see if its really as strong as it seems.

it does hit your own Bloodbraid Elf on the cascade trigger, which is a problem. But personally I like how many different archetypes it hits. That cascade tax also hits Living End and Restore Balance, for example. Even messes with the Greater Gargadon a little there with Balance. The tax obviously stops Storm, but it also hoses eggs, equipment combo, and any other random deck that "goes off". The tax is a pretty big hit to Ad Nauseam, they have to pay an extra for the Angel's Grace and then 2 extra for the Lightning Storm. That's an entire extra Lotus Bloom. The land neutering is obviously for Tron and Primetime, but even there it could have some additionally play against, say a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx deck.

tl:dr I think a lot of people are evaluating this card wrong, it's not a silver bullet that's going to instantly kill Tron and Storm but it's a solid sideboard multi-tool that can come in against a ton of different decks. That's what I like about it.

Goyf looks like a 3/4 to me. Maybe consider some Tarfire in the main?

Thanks for the suggestion MonsterHatchGames! Tarfire is one of those cards that unless you have a goyf or two in play you would rather it be a Bolt. It’s ok sometimes, but most times Bolt is better at getting things dead. Most of all Planeswalkers. I could see running maybe one. I haven’t tried it out in a while.

Typically Tarmogoyf is a 4/5 by turn 3 if everything is going well.

Chasmolinker I've been playing Jund awhile and just mentioned since it's a playset of goyfs, absent of 3-4 Mishra's Bauble. If you worry about creature/walker hate then I'd recommend more Dreadbore. Worst case, discarding Tarfire to Liliana of the Veil for stronger goyfs always spicy play. Just something to think about. :)

MonsterHatchGames I was running 2-3 Grim Flayer some time ago and Mishra's Bauble fits that shell pretty well. Dreadbore is another “cute” card. I like one but beyond that I’d rather have Maelstrom Pulse.
