All The Mana (Omnath, Locus of Mana EDH)

Commander / EDH* Elves Mono-Green Ramp

hunter9000 Score: 8

Description

Elves! Mana! Permanents!

Not a lot of tricks, just a big fast beatdown. The lack of instants and sorceries is mainly to help Primal Surge , which is usually an immediate win if it resolves, just like Genesis Wave .

Elves are the mana dorks that ramp early game, letting you play big bombs early.

Protection artifacts keep Omnath alive to protect your stockpile of mana.

Mana multipliers like Mana Reflection and Doubling Cube make your mana skyrocket, which lets you use Slate of Ancestry , Genesis Wave and Primal Surge to put as much of your library as possible on the table as fast as possible.

R.I.P. Primeval Titan >:(

Garruk's Horde ??pxy Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx

Thanks, I love the way this deck plays. I ramp up mana reeeeally fast. I can usually get to 6 or 7 mana by turn 3. Being mono-green, I'm usually lacking on creature removal, but it makes up for it by putting out really big creatures quickly.

I checked out yours and decided to put in Kozilek, Butcher of TruthMTG Card: Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and TerastodonMTG Card: Terastodon in place of Copperhorn ScoutMTG Card: Copperhorn Scout and PrimalcruxMTG Card: Primalcrux.

You should definitely add Genesis WaveMTG Card: Genesis Wave. I've put my entire library out on the battlefield in several games. And with all the mana multipliers I have I've almost always ended up with more mana than I spent on the wave.

thats i good idea i should look into that, i also really like Garruk, Primal HunterMTG Card: Garruk, Primal Hunter in my deck i drew 24 cards once which is great haha and TerastodonMTG Card: Terastodon is a great card, i ended up destroying someone lands with him, he came out i took out his best lands, they o ringed him next turn i played Ulamog, the Infinite GyreMTG Card: Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and blew up 3 more lands

another great card for anything with lots of mana is Wolfbriar ElementalMTG Card: Wolfbriar Elemental

Wolfbriar ElementalMTG Card: Wolfbriar Elemental might be a good addition. I was thinking of taking out Joraga WarcallerMTG Card: Joraga Warcaller since his kicker ability is rarely that useful. I'm almost always tapping out my elves for mana or other abilities, so pumping them all up wasn't that good. Getting a whole mess of 2/2 tokens instead would be nasty.

I also took out RancorMTG Card: Rancor for Eldrazi ConscriptionMTG Card: Eldrazi Conscription. I almost always have the extra 7 mana to spend on it, and it's sooo much better. Giant Omnath with annihilator 2? Yes plz.

I also took out Evolution CharmMTG Card: Evolution Charm for Feldon's CaneMTG Card: Feldon's Cane for when I need to get back all the cards that got put in the gy by Genesis WaveMTG Card: Genesis Wave or that I had to discard because I drew too many.

I had a deck where I used defenders to ramp with Overgrown BattlementMTG Card: Overgrown Battlement in zendikar then would lay down a Engulfing SlagwurmMTG Card: Engulfing Slagwurm with LureMTG Card: Lure and [[wolfbriar elemental] next turn OverrunMTG Card: Overrun for each wolf as a 5/5 trample. On that note I would suggest Engulfing SlagwurmMTG Card: Engulfing Slagwurm just because once he hits the field and they don't have an answer for him he can wreck a field. Another useful addition if you find yourself with an excess of mana is Untamed MightMTG Card: Untamed Might can turn that ONE creature that gets through into a instant kill.

I actually have an Omnath deck of my own (Boundless), and was looking through yours for some ideas.

I would recommend a Boundless Realms , if you're going for lots of mana.

I like the direction your deck is going lately. Seems a lot like my Rollover Minutes. I can't recommend Garruk Wildspeaker , Concordant Crossroads , Nim Deathmantle , Kamahl, Fist of Krosa , or Aluren highly enough.

Garruk Wildspeaker untaps Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Gaea's Cradle for stupid amounts of mana.

You know why Concordant Crossroads .

Nim Deathmantle gives you the ability to pay 4 to ignore a Wrath of God and save your mana.

Kamahl, Fist of Krosa allows you to punish anyone who plays said Wrath of God , simply turn their lands into creatures with the floating mana. He also is a trample enabler.

alluren also allows you to flash cast Omnath without losing your mana.

Sorry for the double.

Why not add Emrakul, the Aeons Torn ? Sure it costs more, but the deck is all about ramping. Plus, that extra turn is really really nice. Plus, it has the added 'Shuffle your graveyard into your library effect when it dies' thing going, plus annihilator 6, flying, protection from all...etc.

hunter9000 says... #14

@evilsofthepast I totally would but it's banned in the format unfortunately. Plus my friends would hate this deck even harder if I started hard casting Emrakul on turn 5 or 6.

@Ohthenoises I like Nim Deathmantle and Kamahl, Fist of Krosa , but my playgroup doesn't play that much mass destruction. I mostly have to worry about Path to Exile and Chaos Warp type cards.

I'll consider Concordant Crossroads and Aluren though. I'm not sure Aluren would help me more than my opponents is the only problem. This deck's biggest threat is my friend's Animar deck Animar EDH - ETB effects, playing Aluren against that would hand him the game.

I'm surprised to hear about your lack of Wraths. I'd LOVE to play in an environment like that. As it stands almost every deck runs at least 3 and up to 7 Wrath of God effects. The one thing you can count on is no one has creatures for long. (Except for my new Derevi deck.)

Kamahl, Fist of Krosa isn't usually used for his first ability for me. Most of the time he is used as a trample enabler for Omnath, Locus of Mana . Since it gives +3/+3 it essentially costs 2 mana for trample.

Hi all,

Instead of Aluren , another option would be Yeva, Nature's Herald ; of course, you have to keep it in your hand and play it only after mass removal effect...

hunter9000 says... #17

Yes, Yeva's awesome, I already have her included. She's the perfect way to save all my mana if someone blows up Omanth during combat or something.

Idk if it's been said, but now covered forests would be better because then extraplanar lense won't help other players.
