Maybeboard

I never play white or red in Commander, but I love what Selesnya does because it is gross. This theme is ramp and big butts obviously.

Looking at the list now, it's obvious I don't know if I want to go tokens, lifegain, landfall, or butts matter.

Help me.

So I think I've finally settled on what I want this deck to do and it is to ramp while triggering landfall.

Pros:This deck goes tall and wide really quickly. You have the ability to just end the game if the game has gone on for far too long. You get a ton of value from all the things.

Cons:If you don't get a good opening hand, you won't be doing anything. The engine of the deck revolves around casting creatures. No creatures, no fun.You become the target after having almost all of your lands on the field.

Fun combos:

Archangel of Thune + Spike Feeder : Remove a counter from Spike Feeder to gain 2 life. Archangel of Thune puts a counter on every creature you control. You gain infinite life and all of your creatures are huge.

Emrakul, the Promised End + Temur Sabertooth : (Not a combo, but a really fun interaction.) You ramp insanely fast with this deck to the point where you can return Emrakul with the Sabertooth and take control of everybody's turns.

Awkward nombos:

Panharmonicon is not a may ability so the derpy ramp shenanigans with Whitemane Lion and Kor Skyfisher become "return 2 permanents when either card ETB".

Today was the first day I actually was able to get the deck all put together. The first game I played, I was able to get almost all of my lands out of my deck but I did not have landfall abilities and ended up just sitting there with no way to actually draw anything.

The next game I played I ended up very close to decking out. I just needed one more turn to go infinite. Thank you Teferi's Protection!

So based on the games I played, I feel like I need a better draw engine and a way to not get decked out.

The decks I played against were Inalla, Archmage Ritualist. Derevi, Empyrial Tactician, The Ur-Dragon, Karlov of the Ghost Council, The Locust God, Karametra, God of the Harvest and Selvala, Explorer Returned.

I decided that fetch lands were really bad. When I had one, I would only really want to use them to get utility lands like Reliquary Tower so I believe just searching for them outright and having more basics res more sense. I'm going to try an Hour of Promise:

-1 Windswept Heath -1 Wooded Foothills +1 Hour of Promise

I also found that I would usually be the one either super ahead or super behind. In my last game, I had only had 3 lands for 5 turns. Luckily the table noticed and pitied me enough to not just kick me while i was down. Because of this, I want to make sure that I can protect myself and be more reactive. Split-second on Krosan Grip saved the table from Aetherflux Reservoir multiple times. I'm going to try an Angel's Grace for when the game is super close, my opponents and I have amassed giant boards, and we're running low on cards in our libraries. Angel's Grace may just be enough to survive that one extra turn to win the game.

+1 Angel's Grace

During my game against another Karametra, I found out the hard way that when both my opponent and I's boards are huge and indestructible, the one with a Rogue's Passage will win. I need a land that will be able to be the mirror breaker when I face another board of giant creatures.

+1 Rogue's Passage

I also found out that it's really hard to find that one card you need. In my last game against Selvala that almost Parlay'd the table to death, I needed to get cards back into my library or my hand so I could reuse them. Seasons Past did not show up for me at all and my hand was larger than my library. I found a really cool piece of tech that will help stop me from getting milled: Gaea's Blessing.

+1 Gaea's Blessing

A couple other cuts i made include:

-1 Ajani, Mentor of Heroes -1 Thragtusk

Ajani is great for fueling your hand, but sometimes I really just need everything else. Thragtusk is also being cut because I don't really have a way to abuse his ETB or LTB triggers. It was honestly a flex spot.

Those are the changes so far that i felt were necessary and did not anticipate when just playtesting the deck by myself.
