A couple of Path to Exile would still keep it slightly under 200 since they got reprinted and dropped down in price. I played abzan aristocrats in standard when khans was still legal. Have you thought about Rally the Ancestors as a blow out card in more Grindy matchups?

theguy419, tapped out still has path listed as above 10 dollars. I looked on TCG player and you are right, it's down to about 6.50. Making changes now. Rally is such a nasty sideboard card. Adding that now too. Thanks for the suggestions man!

If you get the new mm 2017 version of path they are only like 5 something or even cheaper. Glad to help!

I lied actually. Sticking with rally

I've always loved eating my entire board with 2 cutthroat effects on the field then dropping a rally in on d 2 or 3 and suddenly eating the board again. People hate that when it happens to them

i am not sure if i would call budget decks necessarily competitive, but it's nice to see people try

bah-bammmm, lol. What classifies competitive in your book? Having fetches and shocks? Being $600+? Competitive to me means it's able to post results in a competition. I play modern competitively. I own u/w control, abzan, burn, and blue moon. I know competitive when I see competitive. This deck competes at a tier 2 level consistently. Skred only costs 250. That deck won a grand prix.

Traveler247 says... #11

Definitely needs a one of Trained Caracal, and you could have yourself a damn good W/B Aristocats deck. Regardless, +1 from me, nice build.

This is going into my collection. I wanted to find something like this to help me build a W/B Orzhov control deck. I'm still green behind the ears in MTG, but I recognize a solid deck when I see it.

Traveler247 and Zeviander, glad you guys like the deck!!

bah-bammmm says... #14

no, price does not necessarily qualify as competitive. but you are correct, competitive is putting up results. this archetype has not put up results. as for skred being $250, you are wrong. at the time of the gp, it costed $300, then jumped to $400 after. you cannot really call this deck competitive without putting up results.

Have you thought about Bone Picker out of the new set? With you constantly sacrificing creatures, you'll almost always be able to cast it for 1 and it could be a great finisher.

Sergal, great build. I always love to see competitive modern budget decks and people thinking outside the modern box.bah-bammmm, you're everything that is wrong in modern.

MrBiggieD, I'm going to be playtesting it, but I don't have high hopes. Don't get me wrond, it's sick, but it just seems like a really bad topdeck when things aren't going well. I'm trying out 2, and I'll run about 20 games and see how I feel about it. Thanks man!

Dredgar, thanks for the support, well said my dude.

bah-bammmm, the archetype has had plenty of success on online competitive leagues. Just do your homework. It hasn't posted results in paper, so I guess that means its bad, because the netdeckers haven't heard about it. Faeries was dominating everything online in the hands of Osman Ozguney, but still went unrecognized, until he qualified for a pro tour with it. A user by the name of "Artemesis" went 5-0 with a W/B aristocrats deck in a competitive league this month online. Not my exact list, but still the same archetype that you said has never posted results.

Ok, an online result of 5-0 doesn't say much at all nor make it competitive. It's a rogue deck that has put up no results other than that, and now you have a rogue deck that barely put up results if any, but now it's budget. So you consider a rogue deck in its sub-optimal form competitive? Look, I tried to be nice about this but you're just not understanding.

Sergal says... #19

bah-bammmm, dude, I understand completely that people like you, that think the way you do, are cancer to magic. People that feel that competition results are the ONLY thing that make a deck competitive are the reason that everyone in the format plays the same decks, and have been that way for years. People wonder why the format is dying and not supported by wizards as competitive anymore its because of cancerous, unintelligent, ridiculous pieces of shit such as yourself. If I'm not understanding, stop trying to make your point. Fuck the fuck off.

nice budget modern competitive deck for sure ! thoughts about the new Bone Picker?

April 17, 2017 3:11 p.m.

bah-bammmm says... #21

It's not being "cancer to magic" because if a brew is good, it puts up results. look at Zac Elsik's lantern control. Look at Eggs. brews that are good put up results. competition results are what make a deck competitive, like it or not.

so much for "Any and all comments are welcomed"

Sergal says... #22

bah-bammmm, so if someone can't afford to travel to a Grand prix, but they are sitting at home with a beautiful homebrew that could sweep the GP, that deck is just bad? Because it hasn't posted results? So, by your logic, you have to be able to afford to travel to competitions for your deck to be competitive? Some logic dude. You are basically saying, if your deck isn't public, it isn't competitive. Regardless of the actual deck. Dude, you are so wrong it's crazy.

April 17, 2017 6:03 p.m.

bah-bammmm says... #23

i am not wrong in the slightest. aristocrats is a known archetype, and undoubtly has been taken to grand prixs. the deck doesn't put up results and isn't good. get over it. if someone finds a "beautiful homebrew" as you describe, i am sure they would publish their deck and it would catch on.

Naksu says... #24

I personally like Bitterblossom in these decks, but it would buff the budget quite a bit. But if you happen to come across some for a good price I strongly recommend! :) Definate +1

April 17, 2017 6:48 p.m.

Sergal says... #25

Naksu: card is awesome and I would uncountable run it if it wasn't so pricey. I have a playset in my tokens set, but this deck has to be under 180 and good, so I can't do it. Thanks man!

bah-bammmm whatever dude. I'm done arguing with you. We clearly have 2 very different view points, and I don't think either of us is far from wrong. Just leave it alone. But don't lie, this deck is solid based on the peramiters I set on making it. It can hold its own against a decent tier 1.5-2 format. It's decently competitive so give it some slack
