Under 50 Budget Decks introduces, The Black Death.

Inspired of course from the classic 8 rack, this is the Rat 4 Rack budget and rat based variant. Anyone who has played rack knows that once you have control of the field then you've won, it's a total control felt by few other decks. This total control, and running a lot more creatures than 8 rack, means that this deck runs perfectly well with only the 4x Shrieking Affliction, and rat beat down, to win the game.

So, firstly, the most important thing to do with this deck is to control the battlefield, don't worry about damage. So on turn one, don't feel you need to get your Shrieking Affliction on the field quickly, Despise, Drainpipe Vermin , or Innocent Blood (if you went second and they have a creature down) are much stronger turn one plays.

Waste Not and Smallpox as fast as you can, you want the advantages from Waste Not as quick as possible, and you need to hit your opponents land to slow them down. Being budget you don't have the cards such as Wasteland, so your land destruction is all about the Smallpox .

The deck curves out at two! (not including Dead Drop of course...) and runs 24 land. It may feel like a little too much, as you don't need much, but you're going to destroy your own land, and you're going to discard it if you have a little too much as well. I've gone for the straight 24 Swamp (Just in case you didn't know what a swamp looked like). If you play against someone who uses the graveyard then pop some Bojuka Bog into the deck. You can run Swarmyard of course, but it doesn't protect you against sacrificing your rats, and lets face it, we aren't that bothered if they die... Also, Swarmyard isn't cheap, and for a budget deck, just isn't worth the cost.
