Rats? Rats!

Brawl is a format in which you want to increase the variance of a deck by only allowing singletons. So it only makes sense to reduce that variance back down by using the one card that allows you to break that rule, Rat Colony.

This deck is all about the Rats. The goal is to play Rats, play more Rats, then let the infestation just kill them.

How to play the deck

This deck has been divided into a couple sections

1) Commander: Muldrotha, the Gravetide is great for making sure that you can keep your deck moving, and make use of your graveyard for a couple extra draws a turn. When a Rat dies, it is not really gone, is it?

2) Draw: Rats work best when you have a lot of them. We want to do what we can to be consistently dropping multiple Rats every turn, and having basic draw engines will help you get there.

Arguel's Blood Fast   - costs a little life, but will get you to a better engine.

Beast Whisperer - every Rat gets you a draw.

Evolving Wilds - thin your deck, use with Muldrotha to hit a land every turn.

Path of Discovery - Draws a good number of cards. If you have Muldrotha, you can almost always bury cards and get them back with her. It's basically always a free draw.

Secrets of the Golden City - Draw a couple.

Tishana, Voice of Thunder - Draw a lot. She might also punch for the win.

Traveler's Amulet - Replay with Muldrotha for maximum deck thinning.

Vanquisher's Banner - Play a rat, draw a card. Also gives them a bit of a buff.

Wand of Vertebrae - Milling yourself becomes an extra draw when you have Muldrotha out.

3) Win Conditions: Now that you have Rats, you can try to kill your opponents with them.

Forebear's Blade - Trample, and you get to re-attach it for free.

Gruesome Fate - No one expects this card. It's dealt 45 damage (15 life x 3 players) before.

Song of Freyalise - The mana is great, but the Trample will win you the game.

Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive - The pied piper of Dominaria, she shows the Rat's a Rogue's passage.

Upgrading

I had to replace cards like Bontu's Monument, Throne of the God-Pharaoh, God-Pharaoh's Gift, with cards like Wand of Vertebrae and Beast Whisperer, so it ending the game has gotten tricky, but no one can stop the Rats. I'm considering Aggressive Mammoth and Boneyard Parley as late game cards to push you over the hump, but anything that can empower your Rats to help you win is something to add! Let me know what cards you find!
