Thanks to DerektheRed for pointing me in the direction of Ghave, Guru of Spores for my first Commander/EDH deck! There are three main features of the deck: an infinite drain combo, +1/+1 counter craziness, and go-wide saprolings.

Combo

The combo is Ashnod's Altar + Geralf's Messenger + Ghave, Guru of Spores . Once all three are on the battlefield: Step 1: Sacrifice Geralf's Messenger to Ashnod's Altar, which produces . Geralf's Messenger will return to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it (and deal 2 damage to an opponent). Step 2: Use to activate Ghave, Guru of Spores ability to remove a +1/+1 counter and create a 1/1 Saproling token. Step 3: Repeat 1 & 2 to sacrifice and reanimate Geralf's Messenger an infinite number of times to drain out all opponents.
