Slight Adjustments —June 13, 2018

Took out Serum Visions, Fallen Ideal and Dissipate for Secrets of the Dead, Phyrexian Arena and Arcane Adaptation.

Contemplating switching Dregs of Sorrow for Reiver Demon.

I like the concept of the deck. I think since it's a tribal deck that will mainly be playing black permanents Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx should replace an island. It also looks like you're needing card draw so Erebos, God of the Dead could be a great card as it gives you cards, prevents opponents from gaining life while not hindering you, and is someone that could block each of your opponents biggest creatures in a round. Other cards i love are Arcane Denial, Phyrexian Arena effects, and Sensei's Divining Top. Also Whip of Erebos tends to be a star with its recursion effect and the lifelink just a way to full the draw spells.

Ares111123 Great suggestions! I actually have a Nykthos but I'm using it in my mono-red deck right now. I may invest in another one soon. Sensei's is also in the mono-red only cause that needs more help with cycling through the deck. I definitely want to take out Serum Visions for something better (in the name of draw). I may add Erebos, but I'm more inclined to put in a Phyrexian Arena in. Do you think I should run the arena and Rhystic Study? Also not sure how I feel about Fallen Ideal but in the right acenario it gives Grimgrin flying and it is also an alt sac outlet.

Right now I'm planning on adding an All Hallow's Eve for some awesome flavor, and maybe a Lake of the Dead.

What do you think about Secrets of the Dead? I have it and have toyed with the idea of using it.

I adopted the binder process so i purchased 1 of every edh stable and am able to use them in all of my decks so i dont have the first problem. I'd drop the visions, fallen ideal, and dredge sorrow for erebos, arena, and Reiver Demon. Also love the idea of adding the other 3 cards. I play tested the deck against my No Riku? No Problem!, Natures Overwhelming Surge, and Simic Shenanigans decks. It played great but ended up losing after the animar deck took 3 turns in a row. What i found was i ended up holding cards like Call to the Grave because Crypt Ghast isn't a zombie. To prevent it you could add Arcane Adaptation and with 8 of your creatures not being zombies this would give 1/5th of your creatures the same treatment as zombies.
