Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder (storm).

As you can tell, the main win condition is to play Yidris as early as possible and get a hit in. Get that Cascade trigger for all your spells and hopefully go off and win on that turn, if you don't, it's probably gonna get ugly real quick.

I did include most of the cascade cards to fit the theme of the deck and Yidris itself. Makes the deck more personal. I don't actually cast most of them, but if i'm playing a fun game and not going for the short win, they are useful later on.

I didn't include the Ad Nauseam + Doomsday combo with Laboratory Maniac as i didn't wanna go overboard with combos. But it does have Sensei's Divining Top + Future Sight + Helm of Awakening which i can use if the storm gets disrupted. If that does happen, the deck obviously has a LOT of draw spells and gets plenty of sifting done over the turn, making it so assembling most of the combo isn't difficult or if i'm lucky enough to hit it with Mind's Desire. The other win conditions are Tendrils of Agony and Aetherflux Reservoir which you can also hit off the mind's.

It's a pretty standard Yidris Storm build minus a few of the expensive mana sources such as Mana Crypt and Mox Diamond. But even then, those aren't necessary as the deck runs just fine without either of the two. if i had to add one, it would be the crypt as the early 3 mana let's you play other artifact ramp that do provide colored sources. I'd like to put in one or two more wheel affects, but again it's not really needed, such goes the same for the more expensive tutors. If you are making this deck and have those cards, i'd suggest putting them in there as there is some easy cards to swap.

The creature base is mostly utility and mana producers. Usually you won't end of casting any of them besides Deathrite Shaman or Trinket Mage to get one drop cascaders. The cascade creatures besides Shardless Agent will not be cast at all usually. These can be swapped out rather easily for instants and sorcery that fit. There is only one planeswalker in the deck which is Jace, the Mind Sculptor who's great if you get stuck with bad cards or need to cascade into a 3 drop on top. great value, i don't use any other walker since they don't provide the utility or worth in cost to help with the overall storm.

PLAYING THE DECK It's a storm build, so the goals to cast as many spells in a single turn as possible,we do this by:

  • Playing as much early ramp as possible, need Yidris out turn 2 or 3.

  • Play one drop ponder affects or mana spells, more the better, both of these will cascade into 0 drop artifact ramp. Get as many as possible out.

  • Play more ramp and as many untap affects as you can, this will let you cast more spells.

  • Play wheel affects. This is crucial since you'll be running out of cards in your hand quickly from ramping and getting stuck with extra lands in hand. Also gets you to your win conditions.

  • Cheap recursion to get a win con you were forced to ditch or re-use any sifting and mana affects in the grave so you have outs to a bad situation or need to re-use an untap affect.

  • Decent amount of tutors which is what you use to get your win condition or grab anything that'll progress the storm count if any of them are already in your hand from all the sifting and wheel affects.

Takes a bit of practice to play effectively. Don't keep slow hands and keep track of spells cast and mana available at all times.

Updates Add

Viscera Seer > Ancestral Vision : There isn't enough creatures in the deck to actual make proper use out of his sac to scry ability so it was an easy take out for Visions which is another 0 drop to cascade into that draws us 3 cards. Which probably should have been in the deck to begin with but i like a lot of cards in it, not just because they are good per say.
