Sideboard

Tribal werewolves are something I have been trying to get right for a short while now. This list is my current deck setup for Modern format FNM at the moment. The sideboard is based on "what I have" and "what I'm likely to face locally" but could definitely do with improving, so suggestions are very welcome.

Setup:

Werewolves at its most basic is an aggro tribe. Get your wolves out, flip them over punch your opponent in the face (repeat as necessary). There are however flaws with this plan that I have tried to account for:

Flying

None of these puppies fly, which leaves you a little vulnerable. To counter this I've kept four Daybreak Ranger  's to snip at them and a couple Plummet 's in the sideboard for more flighty opponents.

Blockers

Relying on the wolves to deal the majority of the games damage can leave the deck open to being blocked from token generating decks or creature heavy decks. Trample is the main response here. Breakneck Rider   transformed as Neck Breaker gives all the werewolves trample as can Arlinn Kord   when flipped into Arlinn, Embraced by the Moon and Full Moon's Rise . Waxing Moon can both flip your wolves and give them the much needed trample. Barge In , Temur Battle Rage & Setessan Training in the sideboard increase the chance of you being able to use it and Infuriate can tip the scales in your favour for those that need the push or get through. Direct damage spells like Shock , & Lightning Strike can always be handy to deal finishing blows but work well for clearing a path for your wolves as does Moonlight Hunt . Harnessed Lightning , Go for Blood , & Prey Upon in the sideboard can give you more of this if needed. Moonmist allows you to use an all out attack to clear away blockers but leaving you free to attack next turn.

Board wipes & casting restrictions

Full Moon's Rise gives your werewolves protection to prevent against board wipes. Mayor of Avabruck   when flipped into Howlpack Alpha can keep you generating more wolves , this has an added benefit of not being a spell cast and helps to trigger your werewolves to flip at the beginning of your opponents upkeep. Destructive Revelry in the sideboard can deal with enchantments preventing your attacks. Claim the Firstborn is in the sideboard to deal with indestructible creatures or to clear that last blocker out the way. Lastly Consuming Fervor , an odd choice, but works well I've found to add the last bit of damage needed but I have had success casting it on an opponents creature and using its -1/-1 feature to clear them out my way.
