Mono Green Stompy is one of the best budget decks in modern. Stompy is an aggro deck that focuses on getting big above the curve creatures out onto the battlefield.Pros

• can be built for less than $50

• able to compete with tier 1 and 2 decks

• easy to pilot

• confined to one color

• can run out of gas easily

Game Plan Show

Beginning the game As with most aggro or midrange decks if possible go first.A good opening hand has 1-3 lands, 1-2 one drop creatures, 1-3 two drop creatures, and 1-2 three drop creatures. pump spells, planeswalkers, and fight spells are also fine in the opening hand but getting a good curve of creatures is necessary for victory.

Turn One:Forest + Experiment One or Dryad Militant while getting a creature down on turn one is not required it is optimal

Turn Two:Forest + any two drop Strangleroot Geist, Avatar of the Resolute, Kalonian Tusker

Turn Three:if you can play a three drop do so but, if you only have two lands or want to hold up mana for a pump spell or fight spell a second two drop is also fine to play

Turn Four+:From here on out continue amassing a board of creatures and finish the game out as quickly as possible

Main Deck Card Breakdowns Show

Experiment One: possibly the best green one drop Experiment One provides an ever-growing body that is resistant to removal making it effective at any point in the game.

Dryad Militant: Though usually not as good as Experiment One, Dryad Militant is a 2/1 with upside that hard counters cards like Snapcaster Mage

Aspect of Hydra: this is the best pump spell in a mono green deck Aspect of Hydra can serve as a finisher giving creatures +5/+5 or greater for one mana

Rancor: for one mana any creature can attack in for a huge amount of damage.

Kalonian Tusker: A solid above the curve two drop.

Strangleroot Geist: aggressive and hard to removal Strangleroot Geist is a required four of in any stompy list.

Avatar of the Resolute: similar to Kalonian Tusker, Avatar of the Resolute sacrifices one toughness for both reach and trample additionally the avatar is the payoff for the +1/+1 counter sub-theme that this deck runs.

Steel Leaf Champion: Its Leatherback Baloth but better this is a great top-end to the deck and provides some much needed evasion.

Dungrove Elder: This card is insane in stompy its at least a 3/3 but can grow into the late game and hexproof means they wont be dying anytime soon.

Dismember:while its not an optimal removal spell green has trash removal and Dismember is better than Prey Upon.

Thrun, the Last Troll:Thrun, the Last Troll is a solid body that is hard to kill

Collected Company:I think its obvious this card is OP Collected Company just grabs up to two creatures for free.

Forest: Hands down best card in the game every deck should be running as many copies as possible of it really needs to be banned.
