Bloodghast, Life from the Loam, and a competitive mana base are all too expensive for my taste. Gravecrawler always seemed like a reasonable replacement for Bloodghast but with only Prized Amalgam to fuel its recursion it always seemed clunky. Then I came across Haunted Dead and everything seemed to fall into place.

Play test and see for yourselves. Any advice would be appreciated especially on the side board.
